stuckincincy Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 This is a hotel-office-condo building. The British developer who wants to build it is the same guy who recently bought the Statler building and is starting an $80 million dollar makeover of that property. If this guy does these 2 projects, I think we may see more things happening downtown. The biggest part of this deal is that there is no talk of public money involved in the project. Git R' done! 817047 Does anybody know who this British developer is?
Chef Jim Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Western NY; implementing bad ideas, one project at a time. 817706 No, I think the ideas are good. It's the implementation that is lacking just a bit.

Marv's Neighbor Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 so you want people to work for $7 per hour or do you want the illegals doing the work ??? 816989 It will never get done without union workers! The trick will be to keep the Soprano types away.
The Senator Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Does anybody know who this British developer is? 817723 Here's some info for you, but be forwarned - his construction projects are all under investigation because he does not hire Mohawk 'steelwalkers' nor advocate the time-honored practice of 'red-hot rivet catching'... The Senator Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Between that giant arch, the new bridge to Canada, the Adelphia tower, and now this tower, we're well on our way to a pretty awesome make-believe city. 817654 That's how we pass the day away, in the merry old land of... 'Oz' theme park may set up shop in Niagara County And, strangely ironic it may seem, but of all those 'pie-in-the-sky' plans, 'Oz' seems the closest to reality... Oz plans expected within weeks

ExiledInIllinois Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Look real nice while one is speeding along the 190 at 60 miles an hour right past it on their way to the Falls... Not that I don't like it... How can this be anything but rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. My point is that there needs to be other issues addressed first.
Beerball Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 That's gonna make a really beautiful prison some day. 1 1/2 years later that's still funny. Sad, but funny.

Do you mean like getting buisnesses to commit to moving to the area to fill these buildings?
BuffaloBud Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Between that giant arch, the new bridge to Canada, the Adelphia tower, and now this tower, we're well on our way to a pretty awesome make-believe city. Western NY; implementing bad ideas, one project at a time. Absolute classics!! And, let's not forget building a new stadium along the waterfront.
ExiledInIllinois Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Do you mean like getting buisnesses to commit to moving to the area to fill these buildings? No. Like redesigning the nightmareish layout of the city... You have Thruway and 4 lane highway passing the number asset in city... Whizzing people right by!
DC Tom Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 New Buffalo I thought it was only fitting that this link, entitled "New Buffalo", brings me to a 404 error...

gmac17 Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 No. Like redesigning the nightmareish layout of the city... You have Thruway and 4 lane highway passing the number asset in city... Whizzing people right by! you keep on saying this, but what do you want to do? turn a major artery into a 4 lane parkway? just about every city has a major highway running by it, it allows people to get to their **jobs**
DC Tom Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 you keep on saying this, but what do you want to do? turn a major artery into a 4 lane parkway? just about every city has a major highway running by it, it allows people to get to their **jobs** Well then what's the problem? Who the !@#$ has a job in Buffalo?
SilverNRed Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 you keep on saying this, but what do you want to do? turn a major artery into a 4 lane parkway? just about every city has a major highway running by it, it allows people to get to their **jobs** Yeah, but not every city's major highway prevents waterfront development. Buffalo managed to put highway pretty much along ALL the best waterfront property.
Ramius Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Yeah, but not every city's major highway prevents sketching pretty pictures of waterfront development. Buffalo managed to put highway pretty much along ALL the best waterfront property. fixed it
