Rico
If nothing else, Reyes is good depth for the $$$ he's making which isn't much. I saw an article somewhere a few days ago that said Reggie Wells is the best OL on the Cardinals this year, maybe that would've been a better move if Arizona didn't match. I don't think Gandy is going to be much better inside (kind of a puss of a player, not that tough), I'd rather see Merz. All in all though, you'd have to be generous to give Marv & co. a passing grade for their moves this year. High character scrubs are still scrubs. But there's still 9 games left, 2 road games & the Pats are out of the way, maybe this will be the toughest stretch of the season & things will get better. ganesh
Sorry Price is not better than Randle El or Branch 815604 At their current contributions to their teams, Price is actually a bargain at the price we paid him... Now that does not say much.....I would rather have a Cotcher or a Colston in here rather than Price.

Swift Sylvan
Ok, so to date-Reyes- benched, clearly a miss. not an upgrade. Tripplett- has done nothing. The worst FA pickup of the DL in the NFL. Price- not starting material. 3rd or 4th type. Losman- Brees on the market, draft leinhart or cutler. worse case scenario, is you have a SD situation. that seemed to work out ok for them. Bowen- bad luck. mcfarland- failed to get trade done. clements gone for nothing. OL- failure to do anything in FA. great start..... 815514 We have 20 new players, if you're only mentioning about four of them as misses then we still have done a good job. generaLee83
Why would you cut Nall? He hasn't had enough time yet to prove that he sucks. 815624 Good call Zepp, the rule on these boards is that you get at least 4 plays to make everyone hate you and call for your head. IDBillzFan
There were people here criticizing every one of those moves during the off season. They were ridiculed for not waiting until training camp. People were criticizing during training camp and were ridiculed for not waiting until a regular season game had been played. Here we are, about half way through the season, and you are ridiculing people for not having said something sooner? 815648 I can't remember. Were you one of the guys during the offseason saying Bowen is a bad move because he's bad luck? I mean, I just can't recall who was wise enough back then to call him on the whole "bad luck" thing. If it was you, I apologize in advance for not listening to you then.
BADOLBILZ
Wow. You should have called Marv since you clearly saw all these failures as they were taking place and you could have avoided everthing! And damn Marv's bad luck with Bowen. He should have KNOWN there was bad luck written all over that kid. Jesus. 815533 C'mon now, the entire league was laughing at the Bills offseason. Don't act like this is a big surprise to anyone. If Bowen hadn't gotten hurt what was he going to do? Become a good starter? He probably would have been what he has been elsewhere, just like the other free agents they signed. They signed a bunch of backup quality players to relatively large contracts with the intention of making them starters and they are playing like reserves. It boils down to this, either Marv and co. just used poor judgement evaluating and placing value on these players, or they tried to show the rest of the league how smart they were by going against conventional wisdom. Either way, things aren't working out.

But you just figure he won't work out, so we're supposed to take your word for it. Got it.

Remember the 90's dude? Role players have NO part in building a good team, especially role players who in reality make average to below average salaries compared to their peers. You , as a team, are NOT to address any apparent team needs with anything but top end starters. never mind that the team will be 20 something million under the cap to start next year either! It certainly appears that Marv brought in new back-up quality players to play alongside existing back-up quality players. To be fair, there WAS a lack of quality UFAs out there. Hutch was an exception, but even if he did want to come to Buffalo and play outside in the elements between Gandy and Fowler rather than in (another) dome, between McKinnie and Birk, I am thinking that Ralph wasn't about to pony up the neccessary cash. The draft was another story, and although there is nothing saying that they were correct, we WERE being snickered at by almost everyone who covered it. VABills
Who are you, and what have you done with VA? 816399 Same one I've always been. You need to actually learn to read what I write instead of always taking a defensive stance when I single out a couple of under performing players. Hell even Super Bowl teams need to replace players and look to the future. Noone has 53 perfect players.

You guys are absolutely right to be critical of the Bowen pick up when you haven't seen him play a down of football when it counts in Buffalo. After all, he was no good on someone else's roster, and I simply forgot that no player has ever sucked with one team and went on to do well in another. My bad. Please continue with the warranted and understandable criticism of Matt Bowen as a Buffalo Bill...and don't forget to keep working in the "bad luck" angle.
