IndyMark Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Certainly, our starters will probably play a little less than last night (per Tasker and Levy) however, when each teams "first string" is in there it will be important. Considering the Jets just got done beating Indy (whom looked real bad - relatively speaking) we should be able to assess the potential of this years Bills team. I hope we play well and similarly make Indy look bad, if not, I am more confident that the Jets will be our biggest division opponent this year over Miami and NE>
BillsGuyInMalta Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Obviously next week's Indy game is already a must win for the Bills team
njsue Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Must win in preseason. Why bother to keep the starters in so they may or may not get hurt. SO WHAT ITS PRESEASON. It does not count. When it counts then its a must win.
cåblelady Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Obviously next week's Indy game is already a must win for the Bills team 3576[/snapback] *LOL* Good one.
Mike in Syracuse Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 The only thing you can conclude about this team from next weeks preseason game is that it's our third game and there is one more to go. Preseason is about evaluating talent, not seasonal performance.
stuckincincy Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 And it's always a balancing act. Starters, and other players sure to make the club have to get their timing, rythem etc. in shape, as well as getting in some seroius contact.
TigerJ Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 I think Buffalo matches up fairly well with Indianapolis. I think we have a real strong secondary now. The Titans have Tyrone Calico who gave Buffalo problems because of his size, but otherwise the Bills had excellent coverage all game. Marvin Harrison is a great receiver with speed to burn, but he does not have great size, so he presents a different kind of challenge from Calico. Edgerin James can present Buffalo with a challenge unless they tighten up their run defence. Indianapolis has been beatable this preseason so far.
whynot Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 The Jets did beat the Colts last night, but it was 8 to 7 Jets when first teamers started to leave the field. It's not like the 1st string Jets team was dominating, it was the subs (which doesn't tell us much.)
ajzepp Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Given the way players are dropping like flies around the league, and even our own injury scare with TH last night, I'd just assume let the second and third teamers have the whole game agaisnt Indy while our starters just run wind sprints on the sidelines
