Ramius Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 6) London Fletcher? TD also extended Schobel and Peters. I forgot who extended McGee. Probably Marv because he is a defensive back. 807587 Not to interrupt your all too typical anti CB rant, but TD re-signed McGee. But keep on trashing marv and the CB's he drafted. Dont let facts get in the way.
Vinny4sum Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 5. JP Losman showed promise through Week 4, but has gotten progressively worse ever since. I realize that he played a tough Bears defense but he did much worse than any other QB that the Bears have faced. Chicago's opposing QB rating is in the 60's. JP's QB rating in that game against the Bears was in the 30's. The Lions pass defense is awful. Where's JP's excuse there? Of course there are other factors that go into JP's play such as pass protection and rushing. As for the QB rating against Chicago, take a look at Matt Hasselback's numbers, QB rating of 39.7 and he is an eight year veteran on the defending NFC Champs. The point is the flow of the games were very similiar, both teams behind early in Chicago and they started to throw too much. The Detroit game, IMHO, the whole team looked like they had a Chicago hangover until halftime. JP's confidence seemed shaken until he put some things together and stopped trying too hard. This was a team loss and for the first time this year this team resembled last years and that scares me.
LevysEraII Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 Yes, 21/34 for 207 yds 2 TDS/1 int and a fumble is the performance of a complete and total bust that has us longing for the Gary Marangi era, but 24/42 for 232 2 TD/0 int and a fumble returned for a TD is future first-ballot HOF brilliance. It's a fine line... 807660 Are you comparing JP's performance against the LIONS defense to Leinart's performance against the BEARS defense? Yeah, fair comparison
Catholic Guilt Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 THE LIES 1. Gandy is a good left tackle. 2. The Bills suck because of bad coaching. 3. Money is no issue when hiring a head coach. 4. Max, er ah, Matt Leinart has no arm strength. 5. JP Losman will get better with more experience. 6. Money is no object when acquiring free agents. THE TRUTH 1. Gandy sucks. Gandy is playing out of position. He should be a guard. 2. This may be true, but how many coaches do you need to go through before you realize that the players suck and should take the brunt of the blame? 3. Yeah, right. The Bills are consistantly amongst the bottom of the league in Head coaching payroll. 4. Matt Leinart isn't a Bill because the owner is a cheap skate. The Bills invested in Losman and they want to get their money's worth. Leinart has good enough arm strength. Brady has comparable arm strength and he gets by just fine. 5. Christ you are whinning like my 2-year old. At least he makes more sense.

dave mcbride Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Are you comparing JP's performance against the LIONS defense to Leinart's performance against the BEARS defense? Yeah, fair comparison 808347 quit while you're behind. the bills are 2-4 in an essentially inaugural season after having played 4 of 6 on the road. the qb, who was quite poor last year, has a qb rating that is over 80 (kelly's rating was 83.3 lifetime).
DCBongo Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 This is actually one of the better debates I have seen at TBD in recent weeks

I see JP's as 70.5. I am assumming you are posting lifetime since that what you did for Jimbo. I know you wouldn;t try to pick and choose stats only from a limited timeframe to compare to someones elses based on different criteria. That would almost be a lie. And BTW, Jim had an 84.4. Also, some other real facts: Jimbo fumbled 76 times in 160 games started, less than 1 every 2 games. Losman has 13 in 14 games started so far. About 1 every game. Jim had 175 INT's in 160 games, just over 1 per game. JP has 14 INT's in 14 games started, so about 1 per game. Jim had 275 TD's in 160 games, about 1 2/3 TD's per game JP 14 TD's in 14 games about 1 per game. But to be fair, you really can't compare because on JP's side, he's still young and if he gets better those numbers will improve, a lot. To be fair to Jim, they don't imclude his USFL stats, which would completely estroy any comparison and Jimbo would be so much better.
