Willis990 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 It is humorous how people on this board have gone out of their way to trash Leinart. The guy is a good QB plain and simple. 806972 Are you kidding. JP is not even close to Rivers, Manning or Ben. All those guys are QB's and JP is a thrower similiar to Drew. When your arm is as good as Drew or JP's you do not have to make as quick a decision as say a Leinart, Brees or Brady so therefore JP is more likely to hold the ball where those QB's have to be decisive. This is very difficult for guys with big arms because you can get away with waiting for your receiver to be wide open and then release the ball in HS, College whereas Pennigton, Brees, etc. have really developed timing and anticipation because of their lack of arm strength or lack of mobility.
ajzepp Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Is it possible that the Bears have just had a little too much of their own Kool-aid this week and were not really taking this game seriously? I'm just sayin....

I'm just sayin.... 807061 I think its that Grossman's poor throws are actually catching up to him. He has 2 INT's in the 1st Half this game and should have had 3-4 against the Bills.
Heitz Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Arizona's bad line has given up 0 sacks to the best D in the league... Oh and their D is ON FIRE! For reals.
Catholic Guilt Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 O.k., so Leinart isn't perfect and makes some bad plays. On the other hand, he seems to be making a lot more positive plays than JP Losman does.... JDG 807037 Here's my shock face JDG to your humorous but expected post.
Dan Gross Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I think its that Grossman's poor throws are actually catching up to him. He has 2 INT's in the 1st Half this game and should have had 3-4 against the Bills. 807064 And he should have had at least 2 more so far tonight.

For reals. 807066 Everyone is going to have a good game once in a while. Even Ryan Leaf did. The point is that their line usually sucks ... he was sacked 4 times last week against a pitiful KC defense.
Catholic Guilt Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Dude. Arizona has a bad line. 807055 AGAIN - Has Leinhart been touched? Sacked tonight? Has Grossman been harrased? Thrown two picks and fumbled! I rest my case.
KD in CA Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Nice cheerleaders down there in AZ. How many of them do you think Leinart has been through?
JDG Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Are you kidding. JP is not even close to Rivers, Manning or Ben. 807056 The scary question is how close is he to even Bruce Gradkowski..... Who's played *how* many games? JDG

That said the guy is a *solid* QB and it would be interesting to see what he would do with our team around him.
Willis990 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 For a thrower he sure has some good legs ... better than Rivers, Manning, and Ben. 807063 Your right, he is very quick and elusive. My point is he has always relied on his arm or his legs and not his head.
colin Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 looking back we should have taken leinart. he is just much much better than JP was as a rook, and prolly much better than JP is now. i really thought matt l would be a bust, i think i can say i was wrong and it is his second game. every single advantage matt L has he pushes to the limit, the reads the quickness, the accuracy -- just like brees or any other efficient QB he plays the game the way it bst suits him. JP forces things, when he doesn't see what he likes quickly he stands like drew did. JP has insane athleticism but doesn't just go ahead and use it. he doesn't move well before passing (he can scramble some, but can't juke around in small spaces and deliver strikes) he has very poor touch on short passes, and mostly i just want him to roll out and make defenders look silly but he can't seem to do that while passing. zona has a chit line and admittedly great WRs, but leinart makes that team look great. hate 2 be the last one on the badwagon, but leinart should have been a bill

KD in CA Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Carlyle Holiday?!?!? Holy Blast from the Ty Willingham era Batman!

That said the guy is a *solid* QB and it would be interesting to see what he would do with our team around him. 807079 Or is it the other way around - that maybe a good QB can make the players around him look better, and a bad QB makes the players around him look worse? Everyone remembers Gandy impersonating a turnstile yesterday, but nobody remembers the line picking up a six-man-blitz.... because Losman didn't make the throw. Its like Marv used to say "when you win you look good, when you lose, you look bad." If Losman was able to make more things happen when he did have protection, we might not remember the times when the protection wasn't there quite so much. JDG
