VABills Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Oh great. Let's hope he shows up. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2605427
Dr. Trooth Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Does he have a high motor? I don't know, but he played for Bill Kollar the past 3 seasons. My guess is he doesn't fit into Haslett's style. I think the Rams swithced to a 3-4. The bigger question is, with the Bills down to 3 DTs in the rotation (plus Jefferson if he's even active), which of the 3 DEs have fallen out of favor and may be on the trading block?
Ramius Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Cant hurt. he's only 23. maybe he'll give a bit of spark to our pass rush.
SACKMARINO Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 question is. who are we cutting to open up the roster spot??? im guessing eric powell
Chilly Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I like this move, we get a DE who was going to be the starter this year in STL until he skipped a couple practices for a 5th round pick. A change of scenery could do him well. If he doesn't pan out, all we've lost is a 5th rounder.
bills_fan Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 This guy could be something. He was a starting DE, worked with Kollar. The Rams got pissed at him for missing time for a personal off-the-field situation. He is 23. This may not be just a throw in type guy.
TC in St. Louis Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 From what I hear, Hargrove is more suited to be a tackle. He got himself in deep trouble here by skipping a practice without notice. They never did accept his apology, and his days were numbered. People are trashing him on sports radio, but before this incident everybody seemed to think he was a pretty good player.
Dan III Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/tony_hargrove Prospect Profiles Tony Hargrove Position: Defensive End College: Georgia Tech Height: 6-4 Weight: 274 Hometown: Punta Gorde, Fla. Analysis | Agility | High School | Personal OVERVIEW Well-built athlete who was a quarterback and safety in high school, but rapidly grew to defensive end size upon his arrival on Tech's campus … Regarded as one of the finest pass rushers in the South, he saw his career come to an abrupt end when he was declared academically ineligible for the 2003 season … Rather than return to school in 2004, Hargrove decided to test his wares in the National Football League … Started 13 of 24 games for the Yellow Jackets, recording 70 tackles (36 solos) with six sacks for minus-31 yards, 19 stops for losses of 58 yards, two forced fumbles, a pair of fumble recoveries and three pass deflections. ANALYSIS Positives: Has an athletic and still developing frame that can add more bulk without any loss of quickness … Has good upper body muscle definition, long arms, firm midsection and hips, good thighs and calves … Flashes quickness coming off the edge and the ability to come underneath and make the play in run force … Has the strength to hold ground at the point of attack … Long strider with adequate change-of-direction agility … Shows power behind his tackles, using his hands effectively to defeat cut blocks … Has the sudden burst needed to penetrate the backfield, closing on the quarterback immediately once he manages to locate the opponent … Self-starter who will do the little extra things needed to improve … Shows fluid motions dropping back in pass coverage, showing the hip snap to make plays working in space. Negatives: Has great athletic ability, but the football instincts are still developing … Will digest the playbook after several reps and is slow to locate the ball when having to work through the pile (much better when uncontested coming off the edge) … Has a tendency to get high in his stance, resulting in getting washed out by the pulling guard when redirecting in-line … Uses his hands well to beat low blocks, but is marginal when having to face up to tight ends in attempts to shoot the gaps (seems to keep his arms short when on the move, except when getting a push off the edge) … Needs patient coaching to help him develop confidence in his play … Year away from the game slowed his progress. AGILITY TESTS 4.63 in the 40-yard dash … 380-pound bench press … 39½-inch vertical jump … 10-foot-6 broad jump … 7.17 three-cone drill. HIGH SCHOOL Attended Port Charlotte (Punta Gorde, Fla.) High … Had 160 tackles and nine interceptions as a senior, also passing for 900 yards while rushing for 800 yards, competing as a safety and quarterback … Honorable mention all-state selection (Class 4A) by the Florida Sports-writers Association … Coached by Ray Hixson … Two-time MVP of the basketball team. PERSONAL Management major … Son of Gloria and John Hargrove … Born Anthony La'Ron Hargrove on July 20, 1983 … Resides in Punta Gorda, Fla. Courtesy of NFLDraftScout.com, Powered by The Sports Xchange
Golden Wheels Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Can he play Left Offensive Tackle? 806362 When I heard the Bills made a trade, I was hoping it was for help on the O-line. Damn. Losman is going to have Richard Seymour in his face all afternoon Sunday.

duey Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 From the Sporting News... http://www.tsn.ca/fantasy_sports/football/...ove&hubName=STL 806371 Uh oh... Inexperienced. Doesn't have a high motor. Really lacks discipline and doesn't think on the field. Seems like a reach to me.
