silvermike
http://wnysportsblogs.com/2006/10/14/hitti...ers-week-5.aspx. The game charting is pretting impressive: The Bears ran for 5 yards or more on 13 plays last Sunday. The missed tackle statistics show that a lineman was not even in position to make a play on seven of them. On half of the plays where he had a shot, the lineman missed the tackle. Some bad news for rookies: Missed tackles1. Nate Clements 13 2. Donte Whitner 11 and some good: Tackle accuracy (tackles made divided by tackle attempts) 1. Ko Simpson 91.3% 1. Keith Ellison 91.3% 3. Angelo Crowell 85.0% 4. John McCargo 83.3%
MDH
That was a pretty good read. It's not too kind to Nate. From the naked eye I would have said that Nate was having a better season than McGee thus far but that guy's numbers argue otherwise.
daquixers_is_back
I dont know how accurate those numbers are ... interesting though.
silvermike
I would say that it's more difficult to make a tackle in the open field (e.g. for a defensive back) so that it's not fair comparing DBs to DEs. But still, if Clements is that far behind McGee, that's a problem. London Fletcher is a beast...
Mark Long Beach
Definitely an enjoyable read. You do get the feeling that the numbers could be a little misleading, as tackles are very different depending on where they are on the field. But still, quite a bit of unfavorable evidence against Mr. Clements.
