plenzmd1 Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Chiefs released Lionel Dalton yesterday. I have heard of this guy on the periphery, but know nothing bout him. Clayton, o genius of football, says hes pretty good and stout agaisn't the run, and that a couple o teams may be interested. My gut tells me Herm likes to run a tampa styled cover two as well, and from what I've read this guy just didn't fit the system real well. But, with McGargo out, would it make sence to sign this guy? At least he has been in camp and on a roster up till this point, so you would think in shape, but one never knows, maybe he wasn't thats why was cut. On the flip side, if the systems were similiar, maybe he could join the rotation right away. For all the experts out there, any feel for this guy?
apuszczalowski Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Well, if Herm runs a Tampa 2 style D and the guy didn't fit their system, Why would he be good for Buffalo to pick up who play basically the same D?
TigerJ Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 My guess is he would not be a quick penetrating type of DT like McCargo.
bills_fan Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 But could he help shore up the run D for a few weeks?
YOOOOOO Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Dalton is a big beefy DT...good run stuffer...but doesnt give ya much else...he can take up bodies..and would be good in goalline & short yardage situations..... we dont have a DT who can take up bodies...would be a good pick-up
flomoe Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 If they sign this guy or anyone else, who do they cut? Or do they put McCargo on the IR and end his season?
Bills Fan888 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 We need a big DT to stop the run and plug up the hole so i would like him
BoondckCL Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 If they sign this guy or anyone else, who do they cut? Or do they put McCargo on the IR and end his season? 802220[/snapback] I'd put Matt Bowen on IR.
