OnTheRocks Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Don't know if this was posted. Was Kyle Williams playing today? I didn't see him during the game and I didn't see his name in the boxscore. I did see Tim Anderson forcing some preassure up the gut an awful lot. He looked good to me.

He had decent penetration on a couple, but they had some pretty good inside blocking today. Anderson had a really good game, I thought.
Nanker Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Kyle Williams - another preseason wonder. He'll never amount to much. Maybe Tim Anderson got the message.
MartyBall4Buffalo Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I noticed McCargo a lot today, who seemed to get some good interior pressure, but no I didnt notice kyle williams much today.
Fixxxer Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Going against Hutch and Birk is not an easy task. We tried a lot of stunts today but they picked them up quite well today.

Lurker Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Well, it might have something to do with Hutchinson, Birk and Hicks being one of the best interior OL's in the league. Actually, I thought our DT's were pretty effective in cloging the middle of the field today. As I see it, this scheme doesn't call for the DTs to make big flashy plays like when Pfat Pat and SA were here. Just play consistently, take away running lanes and let the LBs and DBs run to the ball.
Alaska Darin Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 DTs were terrific today - all of them. When you're getting the respect of seeing TWO Pro Bowlers on virtually every snap, you're doing your job. Kyle Williams was good today. Look at Minnesota's YPC if you don't believe it. There's a reason London/Ellison/Crow were so clean to make plays.
Swift Sylvan Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Well you see the predictions are true. Kyle Williams was initially better only to be (later down the line of 4 games) passed up by MaCargo. (Sarcasm on)

RuntheDamnBall Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I definitely saw Williams out there today. The stat sheet on defense doesn't mean much, except for turnovers and points. Our defensive line fared much better this week than last.
Beerball Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Did we get gashed repeatedly on runs up the middle today? DTs did fine in my book.
bizell Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 he had an excellent stop on a sweep to the left... flowed to chester taylor and stonewalled him. other than that, i don't really remember any plays by him.
Kelly the Dog Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Our entire DL was terrific today for the entire game. Johnson is a good QB who is smart and doesn't take a lot of chances. They have a very good OL overall. We stopped their run game all day and contained their passing game long enough to win and hold them to 12 points, and we had two turnovers. The DTs were stout.

McCargo and Williams are only goling to get better.
ACor58 Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Chester Taylor averaged 2.3 yards per carry and only rushed for 23 yards. I think that the line was pretty damn good.
