Thailog80 Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 1) Wayyy to many personal foul penalties (at least five I saw). 2) Very poor execution on third down tonight. 3) Lindell scares the hell out of me...........shaky at best 4) Third down playing calling in red zone....passing again ? 5) Penalties 12-127 yards. 6) Losman looks pretty decent. 7) Denney is looking ok (God that hurt to say) 8) The young guys on in the secondary look good(not great)...Greer,Baker 9) We still need the rest of the pre season to work out the wrinkles. 10) The future looks bright.

Agree specially with #2 - and that goes on both sides of the ball. Keeping the perspective that Tinassie is one of the best teams in the conference and this was the just the 2nd audition game I agree with #10.
Thailog80 Posted August 22, 2004 Author Posted August 22, 2004 Troy Vincent didn't look good again this week. Last week I thought it was a scheme thing. But this week he didnt look very good either. I hope it is just a fluke thing.
njsue Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Why give it your all in a preseason game that does not count. Troy Vincent will step it up in September. You will see. Preseason is not worth getting your starting players injured.
zow2 Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Our 1st team Defense can't get off the field on 3rd downs. This has been a problem that results from lack of pressure on the QB. They pick us apart with underneath stuff....especially an experienced guy like McNair.
frogger Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 agree with some, i think the a personal fouls are part of the "new Attitude" that Spikes talked about on Rome, I feel that it was a preseason thing and not to worry, I don't recall MM getting to upset, just showing that Buffalo toughness. reguardless it doesn't happen in the regular season. I actually am feeling better about Lindell, and our ability of not getting in to the end zone might make Lindell one of the top point getters in the league Losman MIGHT give us our best chance to win, only because of his ability to move, But Bledsoe looked very good last night, and got rid of the ball well. Denney looked good, I agree, but Kelsey looked better, he gets up field and makes Plays, Denney lets the plays come to him, and that has its place but the Kesey/Denney battle needs 4 rounds. I like Baker, we could say goodbye to PP. Aother thought does anyone else feel that Anderson was a wasted pick, I mean Adams and Williams are set. then Edwards and Bannan both looked good too. On top of that Sape even looked better. begs the question why did we even sign Gibson. ho is now with the Bucs and will start. say goodbye to Sullivan too,
Thailog80 Posted August 22, 2004 Author Posted August 22, 2004 Terrance McGee had another solid outing. This guy looks good so far. Keep your fingers crossed.

I actually found it to be a tad refreshing to see that our team has a heartbeat again. A part of me even likes the identity of a tough and nasty team. I know that seems weird to say, but when was the last time a team said they were scared to come into The Ralph to play the Bills? As long as these personal fouls dont follow them into the regular season, I say cheat away in the preseason I guess I'm just in that evil mood this morning.
daquix Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 You forgot: 11) Against a starting D , Willis McGhaee averaged 2.5 YPC - that shows we cant just "get rid of" Travis yet.
IDBillzFan Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 I'll one thing no one seems to have mentioned yet: Kevin Smith is proving to be a speedy stud. He was in on a number of key hits going sideline to sideline, and also did a terrific job on coverage. The key here is depth; we seem to have it on D.
Spanky46 Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 LA that's Kevin Thomas I believe you are talking about, but I totally agree with your observation.
IDBillzFan Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 LA that's Kevin Thomas I believe you are talking about, but I totally agree with your observation. 3602[/snapback] Thomas. Smith. Why the hell can't these guys have names like gjamameballieina instead of a vanilla name like Thomas.

When the real thing started, he stepped it up a notch. Could we be seeing the same thing from Vincent?

Guest the observer Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Let's see: Too many penalties Too few touchdowns Defense hasn't stopped the opponents first team running game in first two pre-season games. The future looks bright? The future looks a lot like the past to me, but it's only pre-season. Get your regular season excuses dusted off people.
