LabattBlue Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Stan/Cal This really was something.... 1982 790326 Still unbelievable to this day. 6 or 7 laterals including 1 or 2 where the Cal player looked they were going to be tackled.
In space no one can hear Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Thanks for posting this! What a game!!
Kelly the Dog Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 That announcer was tremendous. I had never heard the full last drive before and the prelude to the KR. That was truly great work by that play-by-play guy.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 That Elway kid. I think he's gonna do something in the pros. BTW, who is the idiot that called TO with 8 seconds left?
KD in CA Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 That Elway kid. I think he's gonna do something in the pros. BTW, who is the idiot that called TO with 8 seconds left? 790358 Herm Edwards was an assistant for Stanford that year. I think he was in charge of clock management.
gmac17 Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 unbelievable every time i watch. sports guy made a comment the other day that one of the laterals was clearly forward, but i didn't see it.
Alaska Darin Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 unbelievable every time i watch. sports guy made a comment the other day that one of the laterals was clearly forward, but i didn't see it. 790467 He's full of crap.
Simon Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 He's full of crap. 790505 If he's trying to talk about football, one can generally assume that's the case. But if you need accurate analysis of 90210 or Desperate Housewives, he's your man!
Wacka Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I think that announcer does the Niners games now. It was Elway's last college game. Around here, it's called "The Game". Cal/Stanford is the biggest rivalry for both schools. They play for "The Ax", now an ax head mouned on a plaque. They even have all kinds of security around it in Stanford's hall of fame when they have posession of it. No matter how bad each team is, it is a sellout every year. This year Cal is nationally ranked and Stanford is 0-4.
MDH Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 BTW, who is the idiot that called TO with 8 seconds left? 790358 That was my first thought. I'm guessing he got killed by the local press.
silvermike Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Well, it gives you a second chance in case of a blown snap. holder could pick it up and heave it out of bounds and kick again. Then again, isn't there a lesson to be learned for staying in your lanes?
