Chef Jim
Okay, I'll ask. Where did this figure come from? Random? Savings needed for retirement? 786271 Took my current montly income, adjusted it for inflation going forward 20 years and multiplied it by 200 to see how much money I need in 20 years at a 6% return on my investment to generate my inflation adjusted monthly income. Or I just punched in some random numbers.

ieatcrayonz
I would work in a miserable sweatshop for more money. It's my one insecurity, and one fear. That said, more power to the both of you for being able to make it work. 786232 Ehhhhh right. And Napolean's only insecurity was about germs. tennesseeboy
yup...left my job as a cop to take a lower paying job as an Assistant Attorney General after law school. Turned out great and in fact I tripled my salary in three years. Go for your bliss. There's never enough money, and there's always enough. I'm old enough to know that money and happiness generally do not have much to do with each other.

ACor58
My wife is contemplating leaving her current place of employment, which she loathes, to return to her former job. The only problem with this is that it's a 20% paycut. In my eyes, her happiness is worth way more than any money we would sacrifice. I think we can make the finances work. Anybody ever do anything like this? 786228 Inkman, if you can make the finances work have her do it. Not to get all Dr.Phil on you, but depending on how long she has been with her current employer and how much she hates it, it is only a matter of time before she brings the loathing home, which is not good. Anybody ever do anything like this? 786228 Are the jobs different or the people? We know the pay is better for her now. I have worked jobs I hated (for a while anyway) when it was my job to financially support the family. If it is a boss, most of the really bad ones do not last long. Make sure the "grass is really greener" at her former job. Did she only leave for the money? Bottom line - happiness is worth more than money (don't listen to Ed ) Good luck. ieatcrayonz
Trust me, you have to do what you love. I have all of the money I could ever want mostly because I am so smart and because I did what I love. I can't disclose how I got my money but I can brag that the rest of my life could be spent satisfying my every whim, if I chose. In days past I would do this. I would go out to one of my cars and rev the engine all day long. It was sublime. I have satisfied so many of my whims and so many of the whims of famous females that I must now dedicate my time to choosing the right path. I thought the path of Lee was the right path, but she was using me for sex. She had no other message in the end. No pun intended. I have decided to take a path of my choosing. I don't know what it will be or what the future may hold.

It will probably get more of my posts deleted. It may have a mind control drug in it.
