nick in* england
So the journey ended yesterday in Sheffield for me and my team. In my first final in 12 years of playing football we went out and played the game of our lives. Sadly, we narrowly lost, despite the scoreline looking more one-sided than the game was... Final Score: London Blitz 30 - London Olympians 45 For the Olympians, it is their 11th National Title in 12 years, and was their 12th consecutive trip to the National Final. It was our first EVER trip to a National final and we gave it our all. Despite our QB amassing over 300 yards of total offense on his own, our D got a big injury early, and we just couldn't stop their running in the 3rd Qtr. Giving up 2 scores early in the 2nd half that gave the O's a lead they wouldn't give up. Scores by quarter (LNO = Olympians, LNB = Blitz): 1st 14:36 LNO M.Sobanjo 17 yd run (M.Sobanjo rush failed) 1 play, 17 yards, TOP 0:06 12:53 LNB L.Johnson 18 yd run (D.Aldous kick) 5 plays, 70 yards, TOP 1:43 05:00 LNB D.Aldous 38 yd field goal 5 plays, 29 yards, TOP 4:18 2nd 11:11 LNO I.Affoury 1 yd run (I.Affoury rush failed) 8 plays, 44 yards, TOP 1:53 04:56 LNB D.Aldous 17 yd pass from T.Britton (D.Aldous kick) 5 plays, 64 yards, TOP 1:51 3rd 12:25 LNO M.Sobanjo 8 yd run (M.Sobanjo rush failed) 7 plays, 56 yards, TOP 2:28 10:20 LNO M.Sobanjo 77 yd run (A.Boyle kick) 1 play, 77 yards, TOP 0:30 03:52 LNB C.Onyilogwu 1 yd run (T.Britton rush failed) 14 plays, 70 yards, TOP 6:22 02:11 LNO C.Palumbo 9 yd pass from S.Franklin (A.Boyle kick) 4 plays, 44 yards, TOP 1:34 4th 13:57 LNO D.Clarke 18 yd pass from S.Franklin (A.Boyle kick failed) 4 plays, 47 yards, TOP 1:06 11:57 LNB L.Johnson 2 yd run (D.Aldous kick) 6 plays, 86 yards, TOP 1:56 02:28 LNO V.E-Muhammad 4 yd run (A.Boyle kick) 7 plays, 45 yards, TOP 3:58 As you can see our scoring drives were HUGE drives, but their cople of fast scores nailed it for them... I am not ashamed to tell you that I cried my eyes out. I have never wanted anything more in my life, and to lose after playing so well really hurt. Me and the guys came together this year like no other team I have played on. We were a family, and we were inconsolable after the game. Personally, I had a battle to get fit, after I badly sprained my ankle in the semi final 2 weeks ago, and to make it to the game and play every offensive down was an experience I will never forget. All in all we had an awesome year. We went head to head with a legendary team, and almost got them. Now we start planning for next year. We need a QB, our guy has been forced to move to the US with work...

Beerball
Nick--congrats on your season. You didn't win the big one, but as we Bills fans say...there's always next year.
The Tomcat
If you left it all on the field, which it sounds like you did, you should be proud of yourself..... Congrats on a great season...
