anton0575
Waaah,Waaah,Waaah!) Obviously you're still longing for JK and TT,NEWS FLASH YOU JACKASS THOSE DAYS ARE OVER AND AS SOON AS YOU AND FANS LIKE YOU GET OVER THAT LITTLE MATTER BUFFALO WILL BE A BETTER PLACE,GOD BUFFALO FANS ARE SICKENING WITH THAT CRAP.People can compare who ever with whom ever they want, but you are right about one thing i'll be glad when he leaves because for 1 the two fossils are not going to pay him and 2, you jerks get something and someone else to wiiiiiiiine about, because billieve me you will wine about something new because it's not Kelly and Thomas geeeez thats sad (WOW) quote=flea17,Sep 24 2006, 06:12 PM] It is so ridiculous that Willis gets a free pass from everyone here no matter what he does. He is still the most overrated player on this team by far. He _completely_ whiffed on two pickups today, one that directly resulted in a TD. That was absolutely inexcusable. It's not like he isn't quick or agile enough to at least get a chip on the guy, he gave NO effort. The guy either doesn't care, or he goes through these brain cramps because he's plain dumb. And it's not like this is a one-time thing, he does this every damn week! And people here had the nerve to compare him to Thurman, get real! TT never let someone run that free on JK even once in his CAREER. Everyone here will go on about how he rushed for 150 yards. When he rushes for 30, it's always the offensive line's fault. When he rushes for 150, it's all Willis. There were huge holes ALL DAY LONG. Any decent Rb would break 100 in this game. What on earth did he do that was so extraordinary?? Did anyone else notice how the Jets left the cutback open all day, constantly over-pursuing because they know, like every other team, Willis does not have the speed to cut it back or even threaten to take it to the house. The guy is an average RB, you people need to wake up. A-Train would have given us the same rushing day, and a back with some breakaway speed would have taken one for a TD. This guy is a joke, and I can't wait until he leaves town (the instant he is a free agent). 784971
bbills17
Whats funny with your assinine posts is that you B word about willis not cutting it back. But when he does look to cut back, you B word about his "dancing". Normally on an issue, you pick one side or the other. Or in your case, flip-flop just so you can continue bashing willis and the bills, troll. 785016 It's called a cutback, not a dance around in a circle for 10 seconds. If you watched a bit more football you might know the difference.
bbills17
Some of you guys sound a lot like Mularkey last year when JP had a bad game -- trying to deflect blame elsewhere. JP's mistakes were critical to the outcome of the game. With any luck, he will learn from them. It does not help JP to try to deflect his mistakes elsewhere. 785018 Translation: My name is Peter and I am in love with Willis, lay off. eSJayDee
I think Willis's problem WRT pass blcoking is that he tries to kill the guy. I recall from a couple of yrs ago, he would often crush oncoming rushers, especially if they were already engaged. We're witnessing the same thing this year (I don't recall him having much opportunity to pass block last yr). He's gotta learn when it's time to just suck it up & take another hit rather than try to deliver one. Let the rusher come to him.
bluv
Losman's gotta use his legs more. It seems like he is programmed to stay in the pocket as long as possible even if the defense is giving him 5-10 yards. Even if he just moved out of the pocket and extended the play an extra couple of seconds, he would be a much bigger problem for defenses. If he's made up his mind on 95% of the plays that he's not going to use his legs, what good is his mobility? That said, the Jets being able to easily get in the endzone on the goal line and the Bills inability to do the same was the difference even with the Jets fumble return for a TD. 785006 I agree wholeheartedley that JP needs to run a little more and has been overprogrammed not to run. But on those 2 fumbles, that was not the case as he didn't whole the ball that long and was just hit as he was cocking his arm. But WM effort on that 2nd fumble was atrocious! Maybe easier said than done, but all you have to do is occupy the defender. You don't have to pancake him and biting on the fake so badly is not what you expect from a pro. You expect him to make that block nearly every time. In fact you demand it.
Golden Wheels
I think everyone on this board would agree that there is more to the job of being a pro running back than padding your running stats. You have to catch and block too.

Rayzer32
Are any of you Willis bashers watching the NE/Den game by chance? Tatum Bell has completely whiffed on two blitz pick-ups already. Ya know what, Jake the Snake avoided the blitzers anyways and got rid of the ball twice by using his feet!!!!! Some concept huh? A mobile QB using his feet to escape danger. I hope JP is watching this game.

How about looking at a larger sample set than a few plays from tonight's game.
makbeer
Part of it falls on the coaches. We have WM running for 150 yards and I don't recall him being used in playaction ONCE. There's no point sending him out on pass patterns because JP doesn't know how to check down. IMHO that slows down a pass rush a lot more than having 1 extra RB in the backfield trying to pick up blitzers.

How about looking at a larger sample set than a few plays from tonight's game. 785193 Ok over the past few years jake plummer has been one of the least sacked qb's in the league. only 14 times in 03 15 in 04 and 22 in 05. he's also only had 14 fumbles over 3 seasons 4 in 03 6 in 04 and 4 in 05. With only 5 lost fumbles. This is a better then qbs like McNabb, Brady, Vick, and Hasselbeck as well as a lot of others. The biggest knock on Plummer has been his penchant for costly interceptions, but he's rarely one to fumble or get sacked. Infact Losman is most compared to Jake Plummer, and watching Losman play is eerily similar to watching a young Jake Plummer for better or worse thats pretty much what we're going to get with Losman. Hopefully he can progress faster then it's taken jake, and hopefully passes that ceiling.

His sack numbers weren't great after that with Arizona either 27, 22, 29, 36. His sack numbers have only dropped once he got to Denver who, surprise, has one of the best OLines in the league. MadBuffaloDisease
Willis has whiffed on MORE than a few blitz pickups. And bully for Plummer that he got rid of the ball. I guess that means at least one of his WR's was OPEN on those plays.
