Orchard Park, NY - The Buffalo Bills will host the 9th annual Fan Food Drive prior to the September 24th game against the New York Jets. All donations will benefit the Food Bank of Western New York.

Monetary donations and non-perishable food items will be collected at all gates by volunteers headed by Fan Food Drive chair, Mary Wilson. Mrs. Wilson will team up with the Bills Women's Association, Buffalo Jills, Student Leaders, and Food Bank staff who will be at collection points outside every gate of the stadium.

As added incentives to donate to the Food Bank, Ralph Wilson will match all monetary donations collected at the gates and TOPS markets will match the first 1000 pounds of nonperishable food items donated.

Last year's drive was very successful with a total of $11,000.00 and 3,753 pounds of food collected at the gates, both of which go a long way to fulfill the Food Bank's mission of feeding the less fortunate of our community.

The Food Bank, through its network of over 400 member agencies in Western New York, distributed close to 1,000,000 pounds of food each month. This equates to 1,180,000 meals provided to 93,000 less fortunate individuals every month.

There is an increased demand on the Food Bank due to rising utility costs and government cutbacks. This is why the Food Bank is so dependent on the Fan Food Drive and the continued support of the Western New York community.

Over the past eight years, the Fan Food Drive has collected close to 61,000 pounds of food and raised over $109,000.00 for the Food Bank of Western New York.
