and to go along with this story heres some guys sports blog that I found pretty amusing http://www.themightymjd.com/

just scroll down to a letter from joey porters pitbull

btw one of the dogs that attacked the horse wasnt a pit it was a mastif. Im not gonna get into a pitbull debate I know a lot of people with generally friendly pits. They're very trusting dogs. They tend to be more animal and other dog agressive then human agressive. It was stupid of porter to let his dogs be roaming free like that, and hopefully he reinbursts the family that owned the minature horse.

Pitbulls vary from breed to breed. The American Pitbull is banned in this country as they were responsible for a incredibly high number of serious attacks given the relatively small numbers of the dogs in the UK (there are none here at all these days), as are a handful of other breeds.

Staffordshire Pitbulls are a very popular breed in the UK, in contrast, and are one of the friendliest breeds out there.

The fact two dogs killed a prey animal, whilst distressing to the animal's owner (and the animal too!), is hardly a big shocker.

We had a Staffordshire Terrier for about a week, very friendly, but we had to give it back, it wanted to play with the cats, and they were terrified of her. She would have been a perfect dog for a family with kids and no other pets.

Some pit bull owners should be exterminated. Pit bulls should be treated well and they make great dogs.

I guess thier a lot like guns. They can pretty much kill you so you have to keep them under control.

At the end of the day, the price of freedom is having to deal with A LOT of people's stupidity. Banning something isn't going to keep it out of the hands of people who already don't obey laws.

Oh come now AD, drugs, cuban cigars, prostitution, and automatic assualt rifles are banned in the US and we have no problems with them....Banning everything is the only answer to stupidity.

Sigh! Do we have to have this debate every couple of months? Really, it is completely ridiculous to blame the dog.

A puppy is like a newborn human in that they are an unmolded piece of clay. They can become whatever you make of them. If you savagely beat, starve and train your dog to kill, it will be a killer. Same thing goes for the human child.

If you treat the dog (or child) with love, respect and affection, you will have a great dog or child. The adult is the one with the mental capacity to decide which way to form the clay. Not the dog, nor a human child.

The better idea is to stop fugging morons, scum and criminals from ever reproducing, sort of, clean out the gene pool with forced sterilizations.
