Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Would it be quicker post-game to take abbot south till i get to Armor Duells road, then get to the 219N to get back to the 90? I hate sitting in traffic when I've got a 6 hour drive ahead of me.
bills_fan Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 If you take the 90. Where are you headed? If its NYC, 90 is def not quicker.

My buddy is from Maryvale and takes that way, swears its faster than my 20A way. But, taking that way from OP will add the same 20 min on to your trip as this detour, because you have to go north (to take 90) to then go south (at 81).

bills_fan Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I usually miss those as by the time I'm heading onto 20A, it is late at nite. I fly, but turn on all lights (brights/fog etc.) looking for deer. Every time I take that way I B word that there should be a route from the 390 in the south connecting to one of the Buffalo exprways.
SamsBuffetTable Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 All the trucks get off of 390 at the geneseo exit and cut to Batavia on rte 63 and get onto 90 there.
34-78-83 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 If you Park at the ECC lot and you're planning to leave for the 90, you can generally get out of there a heck of a lot faster than parking at the stadium. (just walk to the tailgate). Plus it's cheaper. As long as you don't mind a 5 minute walk.

Tod Flanders Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Or tailgate after the game for 2 or more hours, by then the roads will be clear.

Gary M Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Could do that, maybe. 781948 Or you could stop at my place and watch it with me, because I'm not going.
eball Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Ahh, I know I'm in the presence of WNYers when I see references to highways as "the" 90, "the" 390, etc. Always cracks me up.
rockpile Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Thats b/c they can't take 20A. 781928 Only reason? Warsaw, NY ! I think the truck restriction is only for westbounds trucks. If you ever came down the hill and under the railraod tracks and hairpin turn into Warsaw, you would see why! One time a truck overturned, dumping several tons of watermelons. Another time a fuel truck crashed, dumping a large portion of its contents into the town's storm sewers. Made for some intersting fireworks.

Mark Long Beach Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 yep. us (now) Californians call freeways (note, they're FREEWAYS not highways) are all addressed as "the" 10, "the" 405, etc.

If you ever came down the hill and under the railraod tracks and hairpin turn into Warsaw, you would see why! I have taken 20A often and I thought it was both directions. Thats what I meant, trucks weren't permitted to go the whole stretch of 20A, so they avoid it altogether.
