Time Warner is terrible and are so greedy that us fans are the ones that have to pay the price. And now, because of Time Warner's greed, we no longer have NFL Network. If Time Warner gets their way and they put it on a Sports Tier, most people could not afford it. Right now, I am paying $55 per month for basic, analog cable (not including internet). If they put this on a Sprts Tier, they would be expecting me to pay an additional $15 for the equipment and digital cable. On top of that, I would then have to purchase the Sports Tier, another $10 per month. So, what it all comes down to is that they want me, the customer, to pay AT LEAST $25 MORE PER MONTH to get the NFL Network! It would cost them less than a buck to give it to me. How is this right? Not Showtime, not Cinemax and no Stars either. For that kind of scratch a guy can and should get a lot of things. I still get NFLN because I also have a Canadian satellite. But I do not get it in HD on that service. But my original point stands. For that kind of money going to a cable co. I should be getting all those missing channels and a personal escort once a month. I never would have had cable in the first place if I could have had DirecTV. But, unfortunately I live in an apartment complex that does not allow dishes (obviously stops me from getting DirecTV or Dish). I am on the North side of the building with no balconey or patio. So, there is no chance of me getting a dish. So, yeah, your suggestion would be great, but it is just not possible living where we are. We have no choice in who our TV provider is. Yes there is Satellite alternatives but I have friends who say their satellite subscription is bad and it always goes down. Bottom line is time warner is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with in my entire life. My internet constantly goes down, my cable box always needs to be replaced, half the time my DVR doesn't work, and then I have to spend 20 minutes on hold to speak to a useless customer service representative. This is a perfect example of why competition and capitalism is so effective, because when time warner has no one to compete with for cable service, their service ultimately blows. I despise this company but am forced to use them. It's no surprise they want to rip off their customers some more and charged them an outrageous amount of money for the NFL network. the $108 buxx i pay a month is outrageous but they've got us all by the balls. I guess because your satellite tv has only been down 45 minutes in six years that it would be impossible to think someone could have a worse experience. I spoke to my roommate who's parents have Directv as well and he did say that during thunderstorms or a bad snow storm it does go down and you can't watch anything. I live in Rochester and we do get a lot of summer thunderstorms and plenty of winter snow so.. as much as I am debating switching, I still don't think I have enough information on satellite. My friend, with DirecTV hates it, other than the fact that it is the only way he can get the NFL Ticket. He claims that their customer service is terrible, and their technicians are also very bad, normally not doing the job right, the first time... I am not sure where you people live, but I have Time Warner. I am pissed that I can't get the NFL Network, or the NFL Ticket, but I really can't complain about their service at all. They normally address & fix any problems I have right away, are always willing to refund you for days when your service might have been out, and, to my experience, have never experienced the reception problems that Direct TV offers... I know that everyone is blaming Time Warner in this case, and yes, I wish they would buckle too, but I don't think that the NFL, and its' own greed, are not factors in this whole thing as well.... Their "position" that they don't want to pass along the expense to all of their subscribers, just those who want it is hypocritical and pure garbage. I pay for all kinds of channels that I don't watch or have any interest in, and TW has no trouble passing the expense on to me. This is a football town.
