He got absolutely obliterated on the sideline when he was running down to try and cover a punt. Miami's return man just crushed him as he was stepping out of bounds. It was kind of a cheap shot but they say you always have to be ready. He is spending time in the hot tub today I'm guessing.

1) It wasn't a cheap shot. Ungentlemanly, yes; Welker should have just steered JL out of bounds to take him out of the play.

2) It sounded much worse than it really was. That was the sound effect of plastic hitting plastic about 2 feet from the mics.

LOL no way... I was at the game in the upper corner of the side the play was on.... WOW did Jim get smoked. That crunch was heard all the way up in my cheap seats. One dolphin fan leaned over and yelled to me "your boy got crushed bit@h" to which I replied: Your team is on the one.

There's no way that was a cheap shot, the punt returner is allowed to block anyone to keep them from downing the ball, and with Welker knowing the ball was going to bounce near the goal line and leonhard right there why would he not try and keep him from downing it? Good hit. Leonhard needs to wake up.

That hit was so good I never noticed Moorman sticking the ball on the one.

That was great, all the Miami fans and even the announcers were proclaiming how great a hit it was, etc etc.

Meanwhile....................

Moorman just pinned the ball on your fu_king goal line you retards, HA!!!!!

and while dierdork was blathering about the hit, I was screaming at the television..."IT'S AT THE ONE, DIERDORK...WHAT A PUNT!"

Moorman killed 'em yesterday. Jimmy L was simply a scrifice to the god(s) of special teams. It happens.

I saw the ball go out at the one and let out an exclamation, which woke my wife (she's got a cold). So she watches the replay, showing Leonhard get hit and says "why'd you get excited about that?"

1st of all ... that first quote is priceless. Great comeback bro!

2nd of all ... I would NOT think that it was a cheap shot if Leonhard was actually going towards the ball, but he was not. He was about 4 inches from being out of bounds and Welker railed him. Thats kind of cheap.

He's fair game there. Good hit, Leonhard got up, and MOORMAN DROPPED IT IN AT THE ONE!

Of course he is fair game. If he is in bounds then he is fair game. But he was seriously less than a foot from being out of bounds and a good 5-10 yards away from the ball. It was cheap but within the legal rules.

I'm not looking for a fight, really, but I looked in the dictionary for the definition of "cheap" and it said:

knocking the sauce out of someone who isn't fair game.

How can it be cheap if he was fair game? if the ball bounces at the one, Leonard dives into the end zone and knocks it back in and it's downed at the one, Welcher (sp?) gets booed by the Miami faithful. i'm sure he heard them booing Culpepper, and figured "Damn, they'd booing the guy maing $8 mill a year, they'll tear me up".

as long as he doesn't flash a fair catch signal. If he puts a hand up he's not allowed to touch anybody from that point on, but if he doesn't signal he's a live blocker.

Do you know if Welker gave the fair catch signal? I wasnt paying attention, but I would think that if he did and proceeded with the hit he would have gotten a penalty, but I didnt see it.
