HudsonValleyBillsFan Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 OK .. the way i see it is that the officials were 100% right or 100% wrong according to the NFL's letter of the law. As i saw it .. .willis went down and tried to stretch the ball across the 1st down marker. Is the ball supposed to be spotted where the ball lands? or where his knee lands? what is the rule? if its where the ball lands, the be bills should have played the rest of that game under protest and should be kocking down the doors of goodell's office. If its where his knee lands, then we have nothing to complain about. There is no middle ground here. I just would like to know what the rulebook says.

SilverNRed Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 The ball is spotted where it was when his knee goes down (i.e. where it is when he's down). He didn't get the first down.
