OK .. the way i see it is that the officials were 100% right or 100% wrong according to the NFL's letter of the law.

As i saw it .. .willis went down and tried to stretch the ball across the 1st down marker.

Is the ball supposed to be spotted where the ball lands?

or where his knee lands?

what is the rule?

if its where the ball lands, the be bills should have played the rest of that game under protest and should be kocking down the doors of goodell's office.

If its where his knee lands, then we have nothing to complain about.

There is no middle ground here.

Its where the ball is when his knee hits the ground. Not where he can stretch to after his knee has already hit.

The ball is spotted where it was when his knee goes down (i.e. where it is when he's down).
