Thanks for the support gang... (I'm being a bit facetious here, but it just strikes me funny that 33% of those polled didn't seem to think the preponderance of the blame should be laid upon the shoulders of those who purposefully targeted civilians.) Really, these polls are stupid, especially if they only give one answer. There are a lot of reasons that 9/11 happened, including what they mentioned and much more. Its a complex situation. To try to find one mutually exclusive, all-inclusive cause is akin to trying to find a perfect woman. It aint gonna happen. You can see this in the results too: when given the opportunity to express multiple reasons, they chose more then one. I'd love to see what the actual questions were in this compared to what the article said. For some reason, I've got the feeling that whoever wrote this story isn't exactly saying what the poll said. But you are right, polls suck. If anything, it seems like one of those attempts to further divide people. That being said the "cause" can be traced back to a lot of things, but religious fundementalism IS the root. After all our foriegn policy towards other areas of the world hasn't always been stellar, and yet we haven't suffered any attacks on civillians from Cubans, Russians, or the Swiss. What exactly were the terrorists on 9/11 then?

What exactly were the terrorists on 9/11 then? 764225 Well I used Cubans and Russians as examples due to the fact that they are or have been ideological opponets of US foreign policy. I just threw the Swiss in there for the hell of it. What were the terrorists from 9/11? Well, by birth most of them were Saudi's if memory serves me well. But ideologically these people held no allegance to their home nations, but rather to their sick religious beliefs.

But come to the province and you'll get a totally different view. And ya, the shooting at our military is starting to tick some people off. Maybe some Canadian company still makes light cargo jets, but the last premire military plane made in Canada was the Arrow, 40 years ago...good plane, would've succeeded if it were built in a country that could've afforded it. YellowLinesandArmadillos
military hardware is probably the only thing we don't outsource these days 764543 Since when, a lot of parts come from all over. Assembled here but common, even hardware is outsourced. What about those Japanese or Chinese machine screws that were found to be defective a few years ago. There are other examples out there, I just put my fingers on them right now.
