Who says it isn't? Pandas are surviving because they have made the dominant species on the planet care about them. Symbiosys at its finest.

Because we have derailed natural selection with artificial selection (sort of). Humans have decimated the animal's natural habitat. If China hadn't cut down 98% of it's bamboo forest, the pandas would still be thriving.

 

Well, at least they wouldn't have been dying out because of habitat reduction...
