2. Meeting Dick Jauron: I don't care whom you consult: They all have glowing reports about Jauron. Good coach. Great guy. Consummate gentleman. All I knew about him was what I saw in an October 1972 game when he ran for a zillion yards against Dartmouth. I didn't like Yale, but I loved watching this man run. Now, three decades later, I thoroughly enjoyed talking to him about the Ivies, the band Boston and the Buffalo Bills. He's bright, conversant and, yes people, a gentleman. "I loved playing for him," said former Detroit defensive back R.W. McQuarters, now with the Giants. "He's a player's coach. Whenever you wanted to see him, the door was always open. You can't ask for anything more." Here's hoping he makes it to the top. Again.
