Buffalo Baumer Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 There has to be a time when you say enough is enough!! The Patriots still getting favored by at least 8 points! I know the Bills have not proved anything yet but people around these parts have to think that the Bills can pull this off. Isn't time to put this whole Patriots cloak of invincibility behind us? The Bills are due and it looks like everything they could wish for is in place for week one. Huge underdogs, away, Patriots opener, more Patriots injuries...I am no longer looking at this game with guarded optimism, I am looking for a freakin' victory and nothing less. It's time to knock this monkey (i mean gorilla) off the Bills backs and never look behind. I guess I am just shocked as to how the Pats keep pulling things out of thin air. Can Brady and Coach B really carry the load again???? I think not!
Rubes Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Let's just say "I'll believe it when I see it."

But did you see the way they dismantled the Deadskins in preseason ? That was everybody, even the 3rd string scrubs were beating the crap out of Washington. The Bills have a tough assignment this Sunday. If we win that game, we are alot better team than anybody could have imagined.
silvermike Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Well, it's in Foxboro, for one thing. That'll explain a few points on the line. And Maroney hasn't exactly been vital to the Pats previous success, being a rookie and all. Corey Dillon is pretty good. And Matt Light is back, along with a solid interior line. And there's still Richard Seymour, Wilfork, Vrabel, Samuel, Wilson, Harrison, etc. It's a good team. I think we have a good shot and could catch them off guard, but we've got a long ways to go to be favored - or even - with them this year.
Buffalo Baumer Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 I truly believe that this game falls on our secondary and getting pressure on Brady for once. The Bills offense is going to put up a minimum of 20 points - guaranteed

If you need to consistently blitz to get pressure on Brady, he'll kill you, as he often has. If your front four get pressure on Brady, you have a chance because he will throw 3-4 really dumb passes a game.
Ennjay Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 What bothers me the most: How many decent teams (c'mon, the Patriots are still at least "decent") get caught off guard in front of a big home crowd on Opening Day? And how many young/untested teams fall apart on the road the first time the lights come on? I'd feel more optimistic if this were Week 7 and NE was between bigger games or just heading into its bye.

As long as they have Brady, Dillon and the almighty we wll still be dogs. Until we show some sack in Foxboro we dont deserve to win. Also its going to take alot more than one win in Foxboro to get the monkey off our backs. Although its a step in the right direction.

BUFFALOTONE Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Jay Glazer?? Is that you?? 762073 Why because I am stating the obvious. I never trounced our team I was just giving a logical answer. You know what logic is right.

Nostradamus Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Well, the Vegas line is not arbitrary. In fact, I think the line was set with the thought process that the Pats front 7 will completly dismantle the Bills porous offensive line. As a result, this will cause turnovers from a young inexperienced quarterback, which the savvy Pats will ultimately convert into touchdowns. Is this what will really happen?? Well, thats why they play the game!
johnnychemo Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Well, thats why they play the game! 762101 I have to chuckle at that line from a guy who's handle is "Nostradamus."!
bizell Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 the loss of Branch is going to be offset by the emergence of Ben Watson. No one can cover this guy.

Every player has been looking forward to this day for months. There's no way the Pats aren't ready to play.

There's no way the Pats aren't ready to play. 762116 Correct me if I am wrong, but were we not up by 9 points in the 4qtr last year, in Foxboro?? And did we not kinda suck last year and still gave them a run for thier money on national TV?....was that last year?? If we play well, we can win...not saying we are gonig to win mind you..but if we play well, we can. These Pats are good, but they are not the Seahawks, the Bengels, the Pathers or even the Colts...I think those teams are very good teams. The Pats are good, but not very good, and we can beat them if we just play smart football
stuckincincy Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 the loss of Branch is going to be offset by the emergence of Ben Watson. No one can cover this guy. 762109 A shot to the chops within 5 yards of the LOS does the trick. But DC's like to emulate OC's in being trendy and cute, so Watson gets to roam.
