nodnarb Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Colts | Team may be forced to pursue a QB Mon, 4 Sep 2006 07:26:48 -0700 Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports if Indianapolis Colts backup QB Jim Sorgi's (shoulder) shoulder continues to be a problem or the Colts have an interest in acquiring another veteran, two might be available. Reports have the Buffalo Bills willing to part with QB Kelly Holcomb and the Tennessee Titans at least willing to listen to overtures for QB Billy Volek. Patriots | Maroney will miss Week 1 Mon, 4 Sep 2006 08:38:55 -0700 ESPN's SportsCenter reports New England Patriots RB Laurence Maroney (leg) is OUT for the team's Week 1 game.
stuckincincy Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 And IND cut Shaun King. Easy to see why - in the 4th ps game he garnered 3 delay-of-game penalties. Not like he was facing a shifting defense full of crafty veterans...
Frez Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Get a deal done Marv.............. Take nothing less than a 1st round pick.
The Senator Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 A 5th round pick could turn out to be someone like Kyle Williams - I'd part w/KH for a 4th or 5th rounder. [EDIT] - I should amend that - I'd be thrilled to get even a 7th round pick for KH.
SACKMARINO Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 i think we should trade Holcomb to the Pats for Jonathan Smith. I miss the little fast guy. Or to the Vikes for Rashad Baker.
crazyDingo Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I think we should CUT Holcomb and sign Rob Johnson. I hear he's free now. Anyone agree? Anyone?? <CRICKETS>
SACKMARINO Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Rob Johnson. 761415 i hear that guy is a heckuva athlete, has all the tools.
billieve2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Trade Holcomb for a 4th (will mosty likely be like a 5th with their 2006 record) and sign FA Mike McMahon.
smokinandjokin Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I am thrilled to hear Maroney won't be playing Sunday. He is going to be a good player for a long time.
bizell Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Trade Holcomb for a 4th (will mosty likely be like a 5th with their 2006 record) and sign FA Mike McMahon. 761429 uhh, didn't we get a 5th for Eric Moulds?
scribo Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I feel bad fot the Pats. First, Branch holds out all to way into the regular season, and now their first-round pick is going to miss the season opener. No #1 WR and no #2 RB.

Buffal0 Bill5 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I think we should CUT Holcomb and sign Rob Johnson. I hear he's free now. Anyone agree? Anyone?? <CRICKETS> 761415 I don't know the Raiders released Jeff George.
The Avenger Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 ESPN appears to have been talking out its ass. 761462 Doesn't mean he'll play, although even if he was 100% ther were no guarantees the rookie would see much action behind Dillon anyway. I think the Pats are going to see lots of Maroney this year, but my guess is that the plan is to ramp him up a bit at a time and let him earn starts or take over when (not even going to say if) Dillon gets banged up. I can't imagine the plan for week 1 was to give him 20+ carries anyway. That said, I think he's going to be a heck of a player - he's looked very good so far and has the tools.
generaLee83 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Colts | Team may be forced to pursue a QBMon, 4 Sep 2006 07:26:48 -0700 ESPN's SportsCenter reports New England Patriots RB Laurence Maroney (leg) is OUT for the team's Week 1 game. 761362 Who the hell knows if this is true or not? Belichik uses the damn injury report as part of his coaching strategy. As long as someone isn't moved to IR then they can play all they want or none at all. As I've said before I hope Brady breaks both femurs on "the worst hit the NF has ever seen." I wonder if that happens if he'll be listed as "questionable" or "doubtful" on the injury report from week to week. They'd have to come up with a new category for that injury simply referred to as "done for good" Questionable Probable Doubtful Out "Done for good"

Ship the pick to the Titans for Volek.
