Johnny Coli Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I don't see The Ramones It's Alive on this list, yet. Or Night of the Living Dead Boys by The Dead Boys.
Dan III Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Alice in Chains- Unplugged Hendrix- Live at the Filmore East Clapton- Clapton's Rainbow Concert BB King- Live at the Regal Queensryche- Operation: Livecrime Stevie Ray- Live at Montreux
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 You guys forgot Jimi Hendrix...."Band of Gypsies." Then again, most of you probably never heard it because you are not old. 761961 That's a great record. I used to be huge into the bootlegs and had a lot of good R.E.M. cassettes. Haven't listened to them in a good long while, though. Even so, their unplugged set was great. Surprised they never released it. Some other choices of mine: Miles Davis / Cellar Door Sessions Coltrane / Live at the Village Vanguard Tony Conrad and Faust / Outside the Dream Syndicate Alive Richard Buckner / Live at Schubas Tavern Dylan / any of the bootleg series that have come out including Live 1975, 1964, 1966. I also have a couple Fugazi shows that they've started selling online. Good stuff.
mtdoak Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 The Clash: Live from Here to Eternity Wilco: Kicking Televisions
LewPort71 Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Peter Gabriel..."Secret World Live" Moody Blues..."Live at Red Rocks" DMB..."Listener Supported"
CosmicBills Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 - Any DMB live album is fantastic, but start with Live at Redrocks. - Also any Matthews/Tim Reynolds live disk is great, especially Luther College - Always partial to Pulse from Floyd For some good soul, the best you can get is Sam Cooke's "One Night Stand: Live at the Harlem Square Club". Fantastic.
BillsFanNC Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Wilco: Kicking Televisions 762547 Listened to that on the way in this morning, great CD. I'll add: Lowest Of The Low - Nothing Short of A Bullet Blue Rodeo - Just Like A Vacation Big Head Todd and The Monsters - Live Monsters Southern Culture On The Skids - Live At El Sol Bootlegs: Snatches Of Pink - Charlotte's !@#$ing Web Uncle Tupelo - 5/1/94 Final Show Rush - Atmospheric Rush - Nuts & Bolts
TheMadCap Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 You guys forgot Jimi Hendrix...."Band of Gypsies." Then again, most of you probably never heard it because you are not old. 761961 Bill, you have seen the Jimi Hendrix live at Filmore film? It has footage of the new years gig on it, and interviews with people talking about the making of the album. Definitely worth a listen...
Kevbeau Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 There's been som great albums listed. As for some "newer" ones: Someone mention The Hip: Live Between Us - Well worth it. Not a big fan of "Ahead By a Century," but really like the live version. Our Lady Peace: Live (Calgary & Edmonton) O.A.R.: 34th & 8th Jackopierce: Live From the Americas (acoustic) Dropkick Murphy's: Live on St. Patrick's Day - I don't think one could ever fully capture the energy of one their concerts, but it's a good try.

Chef Jim Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Randy Rhoads' tribute CD. 763237 My wife worked for Ozzy's lawyer and had the demo tapes for that in the trunk of her car. Thought about switching them out for the sound track to Romper Room, I don't think Ozzy would have known the difference.
olivier in france Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 What about this selection: * Bruce Springstenn triple live album '75-'85 * Lynyrd Skynyrd live in Pittsburgh * U2 Rattle and Hum * J Cash at Folsom * B Dylan at the Royal Albert Hall '66
Wacka Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Aren't there any good NEW bands? I mean like in the last 10 years that have made any good music? 760881 No, and it's at least 20 years.
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Aren't there any good NEW bands? I mean like in the last 10 years that have made any good music? 760881 Not if you don't want there to be. There have been about 20 bands mentioned in this thread that have put out material in the last 10 years. Problem is, record labels are so lousy these days that you have to search them out.
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I just got the Black Crowes with Jimi Page live album. Lots of old Zeppelin tunes. Excellent album!
