oregonbbfan Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 They trying to get something for some of our cuts?
SACKMARINO Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 They trying to get something for some of our cuts? 759750 trade deadline was 4pm yesterday.
VABills Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 trade deadline was 4pm yesterday. 759756 Nope. All teams 4pm today.
SACKMARINO Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Nope. All teams 4pm today. 759757 ok, got confused by Deion Branch's situation. But just read that was a team imposed deadline...
The Senator Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 My guess would be that even though they've submitted the list to the league, if they took right up to the deadline, they haven't had time to personally inform the players. I don't think Levy/Jauron would want them to find out on TV, radio, or the 'net. (That would be a Donahoe/Mularkey move.)
SACKMARINO Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 (That would be a Donahoe/Mularkey move.) 759762 isnt that how a lot of vets found out in Butler's last year or so?
The Senator Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 isnt that how a lot of vets found out in Butler's last year or so? 759764 Dunno - could be - pretty sh_tty way to find out, I think.
SACKMARINO Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Dunno - could be - pretty sh_tty way to find out, I think. 759766 ya, i recall Chris Mohr and Thurman Thomas both finding out via TV/Radio
oregonbbfan Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 Wouldn't they notify them before the list is submitted? I'm sure a lot of teams are taking the max amount of time to see if any cuts worth picking up. With all our cap money still hoping to land that last FA to make us a little better.
The Senator Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Wouldn't they notify them before the list is submitted? 759774 I'm sure they would like to, but if they were wrestling with some decisions right up until the 4 PM deadline, they may have submitted the list to the league, but not to the media. (or to us! )
IDBillzFan Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 They also could be waiting to see who is being released by other teams. If they have their eye on someone to fill a hole, it could alter who our cuts will be. Doubt I'm explaining that properly.
Dan Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 ya, i recall Chris Mohr and Thurman Thomas both finding out via TV/Radio 759770 I can't imagine a bigger disgrace than the way they treated Thurman. This team deserves the cursed years its had since his treatment in his final days.
The Senator Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 They also could be waiting to see who is being released by other teams. If they have their eye on someone to fill a hole, it could alter who our cuts will be. Doubt I'm explaining that properly. 759778 Yes - and if that is what they were doing, I can definitely see them taking right up to the deadline to finalize their own list. The local stations will be scrambling to get it on the 6 o'clock news, so hopefully we'll know soon.
oregonbbfan Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 About as insensitive as being laid off by email.
beerme1 Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 About as insensitive as being laid off by email. 759796 Didn't Xerox or some big company do just that a few years ago?
oregonbbfan Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 I think our best bet would be a couple Special teamers to either Washington or MM at Miami. They would have to be established guys like Wire, Stammer or another who may be on the edge but not over. Because our ST is so good and we have others with potential do the Washingtons wait for our cuts or try for a deal. We'll know soon.
The Senator Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Didn't Xerox or some big company do just that a few years ago? 759807 Didn't Radio Shack do it yesterday?
beerme1 Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 We'll know soon. 759824 How soon is "soon"
apuszczalowski Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Didn't Xerox or some big company do just that a few years ago? 759807 Radio Shack just did that recently, they fired like 500 people through a mass email
beerme1 Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Screw Radio Shack. I will institute a boycott.
