BillsGuyInMalta Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 And by "interesting" I dont mean "OMGZ, The Bills gotta sign him!1!1!!!1!" I just mean they are at least known players. Some, as you'll see, even played some seasons in Buffalo. Here are some of the cuts so far... Courtney Watson LB (Texans) Antowain Smith RB (Texans) David Loverne OL (Texans) Sam Cowart LB (Texans) Eric Warfield CB (Patriots) Eddie Freeman DE (Patriots) Chad Brown LB (Patriots) Monty Beisel LB (Patriots) Matthew Rice DE (Rams) Charles Rogers WR (Lions...according to ESPNews soon to be cut) From what I can see using KFFL, only the Texans, Patriots, Rams and Bears have swung the axe this early.
Phlegm Alley Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Charles Rogers will def get work soon somewhere--maybe Chi, or GB. I think he may stay in the NFC Norris division.
/dev/null Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Rogers is the only one on that list worth considering
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 A fascinating list. I have to admit, when I read it I had a pang of regret for Sam Cowart. He was never the same after Frank Freaking Middleton ended his season in Tampa in 2000. Thus a career with so much promise ends on the cut list. It is a cruel world. CosmicBills Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Didn't Rogers break his collar bone twice already? That's one of those injuries that keeps reoccuring throughout someone's career. If he can't stay healthy for 16 games, what good is he to the Bills? He's just a name that was once a first round pick.

IDBillzFan Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 What the hell is it with Charlie Rogers? I think he was a second round pick two years ago, no? Could he be that bad or is it just the new coach?

BillsGuyInMalta Posted September 1, 2006 Author Posted September 1, 2006 It was worse than that. Rogers was the #2 overall pick in 03.

IDBillzFan Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 It was worse than that. Rogers was the #2 overall pick in 03. 759058 Okay. But is he THAT bad? Or was it a bad system for him?
CosmicBills Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Okay. But is he THAT bad? Or was it a bad system for him? 759062 He's not bad -- he just can't stay healthy. He hasn't made it through a full season yet, and with that sort of injury, he likely never will. It's a shame because he has oodles of talent.

Tod Flanders Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Okay. But is he THAT bad? Or was it a bad system for him? 759062 If the Lion's don't want you chances are you're not that good.
CosmicBills Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Roger. Thanks. 759065 No problem. Just to put it into perspective. He has played in 15 games in 3 seasons. The most he's played were 9 last year. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/396176
Alaska Darin Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Apparently Rogers is a bit of a head case and not a team player. I'll pass.
JimBob2232 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 A change of scenery may do Rogers well. Probably a better fit with a stronger head coach than Juron. But certainly his potential and size would be welcomed. However we dont have room on the roster to waste hoping he can resurect his career. Aiken vs. Rogers...gotta keep aiken.
VABills Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Apparently Rogers is a bit of a head case and not a team player. I'll pass. 759071 Is that per Mewelde Moore, who used to be there? Seems he said bad things about Losman also.
/dev/null Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Roger. Thanks. 759065 Roger, Roger. What's our Vector Victor?
