LabattBlue
The Summer of Buckey is over.....how sad 757778 I'm not sure if you are saying this in a joking manner or not, but two more troopers have been shot(and reportedly in bad condition), this world class scumbag is the prime suspect and he is still out there running around. This is not over yet. All the F***ers out there that have been helping Phillips should be brought up on charges if possible.

SilverNRed
Update on this: the NYSP has a presser on the air right now, and apparently the early reports of a fatality were premature. One trooper at Hamot (in Erie PA), one at ECMC, both in rough shape... but at least they're both still alive. They can't confirm it was Phillips, but he's the #1 suspect. Calling it an ambush. (F&*#er shot one of them in the leg, the other one in the back, most likely with a high-powered rifle that penetrated the one trooper's vest.) 758338 The two state troopers he shot last night are still in critical condition today. One had his femoral artery severred and the other was shot in the back and the bullet passed through his abdomen. And at least one of the troopers is a father. What I can't stand is the stupid white trash hillbillies on the news who are blaming the cops for this. They have more than one woman saying "They were harassing him. What did they expect?" I may not be a stupid white trash Western New York southtowns hillbilly but at least I know that it is the job of law enforcement to "harass" criminals and fugitives. And that stuff about them using his grandkids to get to him is bull sh--. His ex-girlfriend and daughter were both helping him run. People up north make fun of the south, but in my three years in Texas I never saw anyone as filthy and ignorant as these people. I can't wait until the cops get the drop on this guy. And I can't wait until they put every single person who helped this animal in prison.
smokinandjokin
I was all for Bucky originally, but shooting cops is not cool. The amount of money and resources spent on trying to catch him is staggaring, and yet he continues to elude police. However, shooting at unsuspecting cops sniper-style is not a good way to maintain the support of the public. The whole story made for interesting news, but the residual damage is starting to worsen. As of now, there are three wounded troopers, one dead ATV operator who was shot trying to run from a police checkpoint (they thought he was Bucky) and countless stolen cars and burglarized homes. The theft of 40 guns and ammo from a Southern Tier munitions store is troubling. The dude is a lifetime criminal who has spent 26 of the last 28 years in and out of jails. I think it's pretty obvious now that this is going to end badly. Bucky went to Pennsylvania to buy a motorcycle, and has reportedly been seen as far south as Kentucky, but continues to come back to the Southern Tier. Obviously his family and friends (aka food and money) are there, and he knows the terrain, but he could've just as easily rode that bike out to Idaho and lived in the woods there. He clearly gets off on being the center of attention and taunting the police. Let's hope Bucky is the only one who dies when this all plays out. I have no doubt he's going to go down shooting. smokinandjokin
No...actually the dumbass on the ATV was shot, because he would not stop as he dragged the trooper for almost a mile. 758947 Well, they thought he was Bucky because he a) avoided the checkpoint and ran from police, b) he had a red ATV, and a red ATV was reported stolen right around that time, and c) he had a helmet on so there was no way to identify who it was. I'm not saying the police fabricated that story, but I highly doubt the trooper was dragged for a mile. I've had four-wheelers my whole life, I don't see how it's remotely possible to hold onto an ATV going 40mph over uneven terrain. And then the trooper pulled out his gun as he was being dragged and shot the guy? I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I think there's a major part of that story missing. I'm reasonably sure that no one was dragged for a mile, particularly someone whose injuries were so minor they were released back to duty that night. Plenty of people heard the troopers on the scanner saying "we got bucky" or something to that effect, and supposedly the friend that was riding with the other ATV'er got a couple of "keep yer mouth shut" whacks from a nightstick. No doubt the police were a little overzealous in their attempt to stop this guy, but at the same time, look at what they are up against. It's hard to blame them per se, and that dude shouldn't have fled, plain and simple. But in no way does that excuse them from shooting someone mistakenly, most likely the result of either a violation in standard procedure or excessive force if not both. To that point it looks as thoigh the investigation is going to the grand jury, so there is probably some doubt on the officers official story. It all comes down to Phillips though. If he had not started the chain reaction, 3 people would be goinging about their lives normally, and 1 would probably still be alive.

justnzane
entertaining..are you some kind of idiot... 757888 In a sense, yes it is entertaining, in the same way people watch movies about capone, manson, and the old westerns with a notorious criminal. Just because stuff is tragic and totally against our moral fiber, it doesn't mean that we don't have a fixation as a society to gravitate towards stories like such. One of the secrets to living a long life is to not act like an imbecile around police officers.
