LabattBlue Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Has anyone else who uses Yahoo mail regularly seen a recent increase in spam? For the longest time, I would only see one or two spams per week at most. Now I am getting 5 or 6 per day. Thanks!
Ned Flanders Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Getting same thing w/Hotmail...there was a post a few weeks ago about this. Saw on a Hotmail users blog that the problem should be fixed shortly, don't know about Yahoo.
apuszczalowski Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I noticed in the last couple months that I have been receiving ALOT of junk mail at my Yahoo account, I thought it was just me. Last week I checked my email after midnight Tuesday night before going on vacation, and then when I got back and checked my email at around midnight Sunday night, I had over 44 messages in my junk mail box. I used to never get junkmail, and now in the last couple months almost anytime I click on to check my email I have a junkmail message
agilen Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Gmail seems to have a lot more recently too. Its not that I am getting more spam, its just a lot more is getting through the spam filters. I think spammers have been finding ways through the filters.

The Senator Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Haven't seen anything about the problem on CERT or any other infosec sites, but ame thing is happening on my NetZero account. Looks like a trend - I wonder what's up?
Dr. Fong Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I've noticed a huge increase in my yahoo account, but nothing on my Gmail. Go figure.
