Thailog80 Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 The reason Look at that list and tell me who is helping this team in a significant way.
Rico Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Agree 100%. What a total disaster. BUST after BUST after BUST in a very solid draft year.
Steven in MD Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 The top 4 guys are playing...and not a single one is contributing.
BuffalOhio Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 The reason Look at that list and tell me who is helping this team in a significant way. 54744 God, I just saw the name Coy Wire and became violently ill. It's time to end the experiement. He can't cover ANYFREAKINGTHING!!!!
Rico Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 The top 4 guys are playing...and not a single one is contributing. 54751 And 2 of the 4 are killing the team. At least Erik Flowers, Traveras Tillman, & Corey Moore were kept on the bench. WORST.BILLS.DRAFT.EVER

WORST.BILLS.DRAFT.EVER 54754 You are so right...I rather have busts that do not play, then those that play and hurt the team....
DC Tom Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 The reason Look at that list and tell me who is helping this team in a significant way. 54744 Kevin Thomas looks like a decent ST player to me, at least. The rest of them...
Indy Dave Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Four picks among the top 100. Nice job Tommy Boy.
mcjeff215 Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Yeah, but then there's THIS: http://www.buffalobills.com/history/Draft1998.jsp
KOKBILLS Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 The reason Look at that list and tell me who is helping this team in a significant way. 54744 Let's take this a step farther... Buffalo Bills Draft 2002 #4 Overall - Drafted OT Mike Williams - Passed on S Roy Williams and LT Bryant McKennie... #36 Overall - Drafted WR Josh Reed - Passed on All American OG Andre Gurode (has started 30 of 31 Games he's been active in), OT Mike Pearson (27 starts in 2 Seasons with J-Ville), WR Andre Davis (11 TD's in 2 years), OT Chester Pitts (started every game since his Rookie year), HB CLINTON PORTIS, DE Anthony Weaver, SS Michael Lewis (real good SS), CB Sheldon Brown... #61 - Drafted DE Ryan Denney - Passed on WR's Antonio Bryant, Antwaan Randle El, and Deion Branch (but who needs those guys when you have Josh Reed??), CB Travis Fisher (6 INT's in 2 years), OLB Will Witherspoon, OG Fred Weary (starting in Houston) #97 Drafted S/LB Coy Wire - Passed on DE Alex Brown (8 Sacks, 3 FF's, and an INT in 2 years) Anyway...Hindsight means nothing but a Draft including OT McKennie, OG Gurode, WR Branch, and DE Brown would have been nice... Or how about FS Roy Williams, OT Pearson, WR Bryant, and Brown... Nevermind...
Rico Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Yeah, but then there's THIS: http://www.buffalobills.com/history/Draft1998.jsp 54808 Not even close. We weren't drafting 4th overall that year. We didn't have 4 picks in the top 97 that year. and 1998 was a poor crop of players compared to the very rich class of 2002. 2002 = WORST.BILLS.DRAFT.EVER

Typical TBD Guy Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 The minute we drafted Josh Reed, I remember jumping off the wall telling all my friends in the room (mostly Jets fans) that they might as well start getting used to calling him "Andre."

I have to agree that draft is looking like a complete waste of a weekend.
Nanker Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 The Draft is always somewhat of a crap shoot. But shoot, you don't expect to come out of it with nothing but crap. DonnaHo must go. He's been a disaster for this franchise. He's not rebuilding, he's destroying.
Brandon Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Guys, you know what's truly frightening? Right now, Ryan Denney is looking like the best pick from the first five rounds of that draft class! Sure, he's a borderline starter, but at least he doesn't make the highlight reel five times a game for making stupid mistakes.
CoachChuckDickerson Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 You guys should have called this the Monday Morning Quarterback thread. Which ever one of guys has the magic 8 ball on who will be a good NFL pro please send it. Look at any team's draft over the past 5 years. You'' be able to find plenty of busts on their rosters too. Easy to critize in 2004 on a 2002 draft.
