R. Rich Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 Hey Rich - a couple of questions: -Keepers - still 3? And when do we have to declare our keepers? -Nutcrackers - who is taking over for them? 560804[/snapback] I was going to post a message about the keepers, Tony. I was considering expanding it from 3 to 5 or 6 keepers. What do you think? I didn't know Nutcrackers was out. I'll try to catch up w/ them to get the true story. Quote

Take it from someone who's been a commish for 12 years - if you make a change like this now everyone will accuse you of changing the rules to give yourself an advantage (ie. - because you personally want to keep 5 or 6 guys you had this year). Changes have to be made at the start of a season, when everyone starts on even ground. Nutcrackers was AWOL since about week 4. I understand if there are extreme circumstances (illness, death in the family, etc.), but short of that there's no excuse to leave a dead team. I know some teams got easy wins because they were playing a dead team with bye players in the lineup - not fair to those of us who do show up. My vote is to can them. Quote
BuffBills#1 Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I agree pretty much with both of what The Avenger has said. Especially the Keeper thing, this year it has to stay at 3, and if you want to change it you should let everyone in the league now before the start of the season. My keepers are Shaun Alexander, Lamont Jordan, and Steve Smith. Quote
Bear Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I missed out on this last year, so in order to act quick...I'm throwing my hat in the ring now! IF Nutcrackers is out, I'd like to jump in! (Not in any hurry for a response, just wanted to get it out there.) Quote
BuffBills#1 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Shouldn't teams start stating who their keepers are for next Year? Quote
valle7878 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Buffalo#1 I'm not putting in my keepers until at least a couple of months. I want to see where players go in free agency. Quote

R. Rich Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 Sounds like a plan. The deadline for designating keepers will be July 1st. You can post who you want to keep (remember, 3 keepers per team) @ any time up until July 1st, but please do so in our forum on the league's site. Quote

The Avenger Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Just thought I'd ask who is going to takeover for the M.I.A. Nutcrackers and how this will impact the draft - what's up? Nutcrackers have first pick - does this top pick go to the replacement team? Do they get dropped and everyone else moves up a spot? Quote
