Agreed. I'm just trying to figure out if it's anamorphic or not... If it is, this just might be the DVD to buy...

 

Of course, I'd rather have it on HD-DVD... But that probably won't happen for a long time. Look how long it took them to release it on DVD!

sorry, i'm not too versed on the subject but isn't DVD like the highest quality available? I always figured HD was great for sporting events only.

jesus i remember when we can barely afford a tv at my house, and we were happy when we got a somewhat clear signal...

HD is great for every fuggin thing under the sun....great for sports, movies, news, sitcoms, weather reports, EVERYTHING!!!!! :P

HD is great for sports - but it's great for movies as well. There's a few people on this board who have an HD-DVD player (myself included). Movies look AMAZING on it, and it's only $450 for the player. If you like movies, it's definately worth it (although there's only about 60 movies right now that are in HD -- but more are released every week).

 

Original trilogy on those is NON-anamorphic.

That sucks... :P Oh well, maybe I'll rent 'em to watch once, but I guess I won't be buying.

A couple of our local news channels are broadcasting in HD now.  It's very cool - almost makes me want to watch the news...  Almost.

Our stations are broadcasting in HD too but I don't watch it any more than I used to. ;)
