Fezmid Posted August 26, 2006 Author Posted August 26, 2006 1977 Star Wars > 2004 Star Wars 752011 Agreed. I'm just trying to figure out if it's anamorphic or not... If it is, this just might be the DVD to buy... Of course, I'd rather have it on HD-DVD... But that probably won't happen for a long time. Look how long it took them to release it on DVD! CW

CW 752019 sorry, i'm not too versed on the subject but isn't DVD like the highest quality available? I always figured HD was great for sporting events only.
Hollywood Donahoe Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 sorry, i'm not too versed on the subject but isn't DVD like the highest quality available? I always figured HD was great for sporting events only. There are two competing next generation optical disc formats: HD DVD and Blu-ray.

I always figured HD was great for sporting events only. 752022 HD is great for sports - but it's great for movies as well. There's a few people on this board who have an HD-DVD player (myself included). Movies look AMAZING on it, and it's only $450 for the player. If you like movies, it's definately worth it (although there's only about 60 movies right now that are in HD -- but more are released every week). Original trilogy on those is NON-anamorphic. That sucks... Oh well, maybe I'll rent 'em to watch once, but I guess I won't be buying. CW
