MadBuffaloDisease
What would be ideal is a punter who can also KO. Outside of that, I think maybe a team or two keeps a KO specialist every year.

He's a 2nd-string linebacker, but is the irst-string punter AND place-kicker (and does their kick-offs). My brother has been working with him, and also has sent him to a couple of "kicking camps", to strenghthen his leg and technique for BOTH duties. He thinks it might be his ticket to college. He consistently punts 40+ yards with good hang time, and is reliable on field goals up to about 40 yards as well - made one of 47 yards last year (though it JUST snuck over the cross bar ...). He just started his senior year (Fayetteville, Arkansas). Maybe we'll see him in a Bills uni in about 5 years! ;-) GO BILLS!
Astrobot
Wonder if you can put a kicker on the PS in case Lindell develops clubfoot, hoof and mouth, or corns.
Shamrock
keeping a kicker fresh....thats new 748225 Keeping the kid that collects the tee fresh, now that's new...
Corp000085
You have that backwards. The tee size was reduced in 1991 and the kickoffs were moved back around 2000. 748190 In '94, when the league moved the kickoff from the 35- to the 30-yard line, 7% of the kickoffs went for touchbacks; this year that number is up to 17% from: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/features/...981228/nfl1228/ 1994: Kickoff tees used can be no more than one inch in height (previously 3 inches). from: http://www.steelersfever.com/nfl_history_of_rules.html So, we were both wrong... The tee size and the location of the kicks were changed in 94... I believe in 2000 the NFL started to use that black cup tee thing rather than the orange tripod tee, which had an effect on kickoffs. Either way, i still think that we should only have lindell. It's a complete waste of a roster spot... even the 1991 bills, with a hall of fame laden talent pool cut brad delouiso (sp?)... and after all that research, i don't even have a clue if delouso played in 91, 92, or 93 for the bills, nor do i care! bartshan-83
Setta is a fast MF...I guarantee you wouldn't see many return men blowing by him. But I don't think he's good enough to warrant a spot. Side Note - the guy pulled an incredible amount of ass in college....never understood it. I always heard about girls gettin on it but the guy seemed goofy to me...and his voice sounded like Kermit. strange sh--....
generaLee83
If you really believe that, you're a moron who is flying in the face of observable data. Lindell is one of the better kickers in the NFL. You can feel unconfident in him over 40 if you want. But how you feel matters nil. He showed a lot last season when he got Shneck as his LS and was recovered from the shoulder injury that hurt his technique. Have you ever kicked a FG with an injured shoulder? Do you maintain that Drew Brees is a suck-ass QB b/c he didn't have a good season two years ago? The premise of this thread sucks. 748259 Whoa dude. Moron? Are you serious? 3/4 of my thread was supposed to taken as funny. I do think that Lindell sucks as a kicker. He is certainly not even closed to being "elite". I didn't mean to insult your boyfriend though, sorry bout that.
BoondckCL
Setta is not worth a spot mainly because a team is not going to keep two specialists. These two players would be Schneck AND Setta. And this is when some people are saying that we should try to keep 7 receivers so that we can hold onto Martan Nance. It's unrealistic to think that we would have the spare roster spot when we have so many young guys as well as project guys that are projected to take starting jobs later in their careers. Come August 29th, you will see Setta cut and on August 30th he will be playing for the Albany Conquest in the arena 2 league.

I know your type. This is a place for intelligent football talk (and the occassional Buffalo Jills thread), not the marijuana-laced ravings of 13-year-olds who post from last year's Official Paranoid Bills Fan Talking Points.
