Typical TBD Guy
I suspect the only truly controversial moves I made were having 2 QB and 3 DE on the roster. In my defense, I'd prefer having a couple extra special teamers instead of a crappy 3rd-string QB (Moorman > Holcomb) or a crappy backup DE (one of our DT's or LB's > Josh Cooper, Eric Powell, etc...). RuntheDamnBall
Bulleted for yr pleasure: - This is the year Joe Burns finally gets cut. Keep Shaud in his stead. I see why you keep Burns as FB, though. I think that will shake out differently. - I will be very pleased if Greg Jerman is gone. - Not so pleased if Rashad Baker is gone. - Setta is going to catch on with somebody. Think the next Shayne Graham. Not that Lindell can't get it done for us. What a difference a year makes. - Keep Cieslak, dump Neufeld. - From our WR cuts, 1-2 will emerge on other NFL rosters. I'd love to see Wilson stay, if only to see him pat JP on the helmet a few more times. - I guess we keep 4 OGs, but not sure about Gibson. - Interesting you see Ellison holding on. I'll have to keep an eye on him. Ezekial probably does get cut at this point.

DeLuca1967
Three SS's? If Whitner is the starter then either Bowen or Wire have to go. Do teams get a 53 man roster and 8 on the practice squad? That's a lot of players.
MDH
- I think they'll keep fewer OL than you have listed, there's a reason they want guys to be able to play multple positions. My guess is they'll cut Gibson and Pennington (who will go to the PS), while keeping Morgon. - They'll keep at least 5DTs. With the rotation they want to have they'll need more as insurance against injury, though I'm not sure who they'll keep, perhaps Sape. - They'll cut Wire and keep Baker. Wire is solid on ST but the Bills are loaded with solid ST players, there's no need to carry a guy when that's his primary function on the team. Also Whittner and Bowen have the SS spot pretty well covered and there's little chance Wire would end up playing at all. However on the other side is Vincent goes down (he is 37) I think they'd like to have a vet back there as a (pun coming) safety valve. - I don't think Burns is going to make the squad over Shelton. - Holcomb won't be cut - I'm not sure they'll carry 5 OLB, Ellison might be on the practice squad instead of the active roster (granted if they only carry 4 OLB that might leave room on the team for another S which would mean Wire gets to stay). The Senator
Keep Cieslak, toss Neufield. Can't understand keeping Coy Wire. Also, think ya gotta have 3 QBs. (Maybe pick up Jared Lorenzen - he can double as a FB and free up another spot - then cut Burns and keep Nance?)

But that will come next year. good point on Denney being able to play some tackle, that makes sense, since Powell had a good game against Carolina. Typical TBD Guy
Thanks for the responses, guys. I will update this roster again after tonight's game. Here's some of my comments about what you've all said: 1. Going with 2 QB's is definitely atypical, but it's been done many times before in this league. The Bills did it in 2002, I believe, with only Drew and AVP. Nevertheless, my roster prediction is supposed to be what I think will happen, not what I think SHOULD happen...so I will probably add Kelly back onto my roster . 2. I kept Wire for his ST play only, though I understand a lot of you hate him for that as well. I'll continue to believe a "captain" of the special teams must have some ability in this facet of the game, because we all know Wire didn't make the 2004 and 2005 roster by his safety skills. 3. I kept Burns for the same reason I kept Wire, and Ricard adds more dimensions to the game than does Shelton (who is more or less just a blocking fullback, and not that great of one....). 4. Keeping only 3 DE's, like with the 2 QB's, has been done many times before in this league. Last year, we only kept 3. This year, the talent beyond Kelsay and Denney is just as bad...though I could see a 4th DE picked up from some other team. I'll keep an eye out for Powell tonight. I didn't pay too much attention to him in the preseaon game, though I do notice that he's now the 4th DE on the "official" depth chart. 5. Ellison is a great fit for a Tampa-2 OLB...I'm predicting that it will be a matter of days before the accolades start rolling in . Conversely, I still don't see what all the lovefest over Ezekiel is about...he hasn't shown me anything so far. 6. Vincent won't be cut. The hate for him on this message board is slowly approaching Wire level, but he's still a solid starter who has the speed and intelligence to play FS at a high level. Last year, he didn't look as good because NO ONE in our secondary looked all that good (but he still led the team in INT's). As a former DB in high school, I know how difficult it is to play back there when your front 4 is giving the QB and WR's all day. Levy didn't cut Vincent like he did Milloy because - unlike Milloy - Vincent fits our new Tampa D. 7. Neufeld's a great blocker and - you can see a pattern here with my roster choices - good on ST's. Cieslak has been quiet since preseason began...not sure why. 8. Baker's not a bad player, and he'll make someone else's team. But I'm not so sure he fits our new D system like Vincent and Simpson do. 9. I might have mixed Merz and Pennington up when I formed my opinions of them from the Carolina game. I'll pay better attention to these OL guys tonight.
