Rico Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 I'm not bailing on MM yet, but this team of losers really needed someone kicking their butts day-in & day-out. Coughlin was the man for the job.

Drafted a RB with the first round pick....had a top 10 RB Drafted a WR with the first round pick...had Eric Moulds Drafted DE's who cannot put pressure on a QB Drafted an OL at #4, who should be a guard, but still playing RT. Totally ignored the rest of the OL.
JayFromDC Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Gave Aaron Schoebel and Mark Cambell extensions who I haven't heard their names all season
gantrules Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Dude, they beat the pack at home with the same team that went 4-12 or 3-13 last year. Coaching doesn't make a differnece?

BF_in_Indiana Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 I said we should have hired Coughlin all along. The replies that the pro Coughlin people got were........"he's an ass, he is too much of a disciplinarian, blah blah blah." HE'S A WINNER!!!!! PERIOD. What do we have??? Another second rate no name coach who has us at 0-3.

Coughlin had a layover in Pittsburgh once, but that didn't count.
gantrules Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 TD's gauge on coaches is just like his gauge on everything football related.

Once again, none of the high profile (or perceived) coaches want to coach up here in buffalo.
bobblehead Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 The problem was I think TC did not even want to coach here....As soon asthe Giants HC job opened up, it was given to Coughlin... That seemed to be the case, He wanted the Giants job since before the end of last season.
BF_in_Indiana Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Yes but that doesn't mean you don't show interest. Of the guys that were out there with some prior coaching experience we targeted only the ones that would come cheaply (Jauron comes to mind).
Alaska Darin Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Coughlin isn't the savior everyone here is making him out to be. The Giants have benefitted from their early season schedule and taking advantage of their opponents injuries. They are nowhere near as good as their current record indicates. It's week 4, people.
gantrules Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 So what? they won the games they were suppose to.....isn't that a mark of a team headed to the playoffs? I think it's going to be intriguing seeing the Cowgirls, Giants and Iggles all look good right now. The only one I think is SB worthy is the Iggles...but hey you never know.
