inkman
I started shaving my head about 6 years ago when I was approaching 30 and not entirely happy with mop. This was my way of taking things into my own hands and not letting the coarse of time get the best me. I knew their were some benefits. No more bed head, no stupid doo's to deal with. Little did I know it would provide a much greater service. About 10 days ago, my wife noticed a lump on the top of my head. I found it peculiar because I had not sustained any injury nor was I feeling any pain. I went to the doc and he decided to get my head x-rayed. They came back normal. So now they have ordered a CT scan of my head and I'm "heading" in tomorrow. So the moral of the story is if I never shaved my head, I probably never would have noticed. Take that all you non-follically challenged individuals.

Going back tomorrow for follow up, perhaps to find a specialist but which kind? Maybe the Doc will know.

Wacka
Sure it isn't a subaceous cyst (clogged sweat gland)? How big is it? My grandfather, father, sister and I had them on our heads. Mine was on my neck. The doc took it out under local anesthetic . It looked like a pus colored marble (he showed it to me). Hopefully, that's all it is. How much did it cost to remove and treat? And can you cut it out with a razor knife and pull the cyst out with tweezers and superglue the incision and use some antibiotic to combat infection, I am serious I will do it myself if the hospital route is in the thousands ...Not kidding I am a little crazy and don't give a fugg about injuries and pain...I have worked on injuries before so it's not my first time...Anybody have answers or advice on how to fix this lump or how to get medical service on a limited budget? Fezmid
I'm sure it's nothing. I had a couple of bumps on my head several years ago. They didn't hurt, but it felt like there was something hard underneath- like a calcium deposit or something. I went to the doctor and they took 'em both out, but it did hurt - although felt more creepy having something tearing your skull... I was a little loopy from the drugs, and after he pulled the first one out I sat up and said, "I refuse treatment, I'm going home now." The doctor laughed at me and did the second one anyway. I always thought I had a lawsuit just waiting there.... I now have a couple more that I'll need to have removed at some point. They're annoying, but apparantly hereditary in my family. Gross story below: The second one they removed actually had some sort of sack around it, and it exploded blood when they pulled it out. That's why doctor's wear scrubs. Served him right for not listening to me. CW

Wacka
We all have or had hair still, although my bald spot is slowly getting bigger. Mine was a lump on my neck. It was when Mario Lemieux had cancer and he said he noticed a swollen lymoh node on his neck. That got me to going to the doc. They biopsied it agfter removal, but the doc was pretty sure it was just a cyst by how it looked when he excised it.
inkman
So in other words, your just a mis-shapen freak? 745075[/snapback] Perhaps, but I wasn't two weeks ago. It's kinda scary when you wake up one day and your head is a different shape than it was the day before.

If you didn't know me, you wouldn't know their is even anyting wrong(well, outside of my normal weirdness) It feels and appears that my skull has expanded vertically in it's very center. Only about 1/4 inch or so but enough to freak me out. The diameter of the lump is similar to a golf ball. Going to the doc at 2pm, hopefully find out more then. ACor58
I have just noticed one on my head as well. Very small bump, feels very hard. No pain or anything. Could be like Fezmids.
