R. Rich Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 These are the kind of stories I wish we didn't see around this time of year. Unfortunately, we do. Very sad.

eball Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 People use the word "tragic" inappropriately all the time. This is not one of those times. How terrible for that boy's family, friends, and teammates.
Offside Number 76 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Sh*t. 17 years old. At least he passed while doing something he cared about, but hell, 17 years old. May God bless him and give comfort to his family.

ThePebble19 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Wow...Rich, you know I live right near Ship, and I haven't heard anything about this yet. Maybe I just missed it on the local news. Unfortunate, yes. My thoughts are out to his friends and family.

There really isn't any local TV stations, except that one out of Hagerstown, right? I can't recall. I don't go there much, except for dental appointments (our dentist is in Chambersburg) or to visit my sisters in law (both live in Chambersburg).
OnTheRocks Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 "Dear Mrs. Bernardo, we have some unfortunate news for you....." Not a phone call I would ever want to make.
