NCDAWG
My wife, my 8 year old daughter, and myself went to the final sabres game here in carolina. My 8 year old had been watching hockey all season with us on tv so she knew most of the players and this was her first live hockey game. At the pre-skate we went over to the end of the ice where the sabres were warming up, and yelling "go sabres" etc. and my wife had a huge sign that said "We love our Sabres". The only player to even look up at us was J.P.. He pointed to his stick and then to my daughter and I gave him the thumbs up sign. He then gently flipped the puck to my daughter. I told him thank you and so did my daughter. She didn't let go of that puck the whole ride home. So thanks again for being one of the classiest pro athletes that I have ever met. Sorry, my 2 pennies. Dan Gross
Good thing the refs didn't notice, or JP would have started the game in the box for delay of, er, warmups. [/anti-Buffalo conspiracy] Just kidding. Nice story. Thanks for sharing.
Peter
Amen. I would love to see him back in a Sabres uniform. He is a classy guy. I had a similar experience with him at a game last year.

Taro T
I was soooo tempted to make a post on the main board with the title "JP released..." 739448[/snapback] He seems like a good guy. Who knows, maybe the team will have some more cap room next year and will still be willing to spend to near the cap and they'll be able to work out a fair deal at that time. That's my hope, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it.
