Kelly the Dog
Thats BS. He checks down, but he is capable of putting up big #'s, he has. 738738 Yep. He's played in 41 games and he's put up big numbers in 4.1 of them.

Ramius
For a guy that has not had many chances, he has lit it up for 400 yards a few times, a couple in the regular season and once in the playoffs. 738587 You DO realize that the playoff game, and the 58-48 loss to cincy are the onyl times in 22 career starts that holcomb has put up over 400 yards, dont you? I dont see why holcomb jock sniffers make this claim like holcomb has put up 400 yards every time he steps on the field. In fact, look at his numbers, they are consistently mediocre. I'm happy to have KH as the BACKUP QB of the Bills. If he's starting the season, we're !@#$. But i can make these statements too. For a guy that hasnt had many chances, Losman has lit it up for 3 TD's in a quarter a few times.
MadBuffaloDisease
For a guy that hasnt had many chances, Losman has lit it up for 3 TD's in a quarter a few times. Yep. And unlike Holcomb's one 400 yard game per 11 starts, JP has one 3 TD game per every 8 starts.
Buffalo_Stampede
...and Losman isn't? 738748 Maybe. Why do people always make this a fight?? Holcomb has put up a few 400 yard games, 1 in the playoffs. People talk about him like he never throws down field. He cant throw it like Losman, but he can throw it good enough. Why are we bashing Holcomb?? Its stupid. One day it seemed like Holcomb turned into the enemy here. Many Bills fans wanted Rob Johnson for the same reasons they want Losman. Learn from mistakes. Hopefully Juaron did when he forced Cade McNown on the Bears which lead to an eventual trade because the team hated McNown.
IDBillzFan
Thats BS. He checks down, but he is capable of putting up big #'s, he has. 738738 In fact, in some of his biggest games he's put up hundreds of passing yards...and lost. I don't care if you throw for 500 yards, if you lose, it's still a losing effort.

It's not that Holcomb turned into the enemy by himself; it's that JP bashers became personal with their attacks so Holcomb bashers started doing the same (Not I since I like Holcomb, but as a backup, and I don't bash Buffalo Bills, period). I think that had to do with the "he's cocky" label as a rookie and all the negative stuff that we've heard, and possibly how he resembles RJ. It's childish I know, but it is what it is. Again with Holcomb, at his age and years in the league, you know what you're getting, and he'll NEVER become a top-flight QB. JP may not either, but we don't know that yet. And with a new regime, let's face it, the Bills are rebuilding. So why the need to have a QB who "can help the Bills win now?" What good does it do for the Bills to have a semi-decent season, still miss the playoffs, and then go into camp next year with a 34 year old Holcomb and no clearly-defined QB of the future? Does anyone think that the Bills are a Holcomb away this year from making the playoffs? I don't. Better-off I say to start Losman, or Nall if he ever gets healthy, take your lumps and see what you have. If he sucks, you draft Brady Quinn next year. If he's good, great! I just see NO upside to starting Holcomb, except for MAYBE a couple more superfluous wins.

I'm happy to have KH as the BACKUP QB of the Bills. If he's starting the season, we're !@#$. In fairness to Kelly Holcomb, he's never really played on a team with alot of offensive talent. The games he played for the Browns, he had virtually no name players on the field with him. In fact, I'd say the Browns team that he QB'd in the playoffs only had one or two players that would have started on our offense LAST season. That being said, I don't relish the thought of Kelly Holcomb throwing a 15 yard out at Rich on a windy late fall day. For a guy that hasnt had many chances, Losman has lit it up for 3 TD's in a quarter a few times. 738752 You have to understand. The media planted the "JP Losman has some similiarities to Rob Johnson" thing, so the weak minded have to hold that like Linus holds his blanket. For whatever reason, they don't get the reality that virtually all young QBs hold the ball too long. Nor do they understand that it takes 2 or 3 seasons of PLAYING GAMES to evaluate a QB. I'd have a much better feel for Losman if we had a real coaching staff his first two seasons, instead of the crisis management team of Mularkey and Clements. Kelly's big numbers came late in the 4th Q when he launched 60 yard bombs every down to Northcutt and Andre Davis all game long with the Def. using their 3rd stringers. Guy has never shown anything to merit a start. But I can't stop thinking of Dilfer and Marc Rippen managing a game and allowing their defense to win. EC-Bills
Steven Hawking could get a thousand yards with the Broncos. 738347 I am actually picturing him now busting through a hole that Denver OL opened up

makbeer
Holcomb is very decisive when he throws. He knows at the start of each play he's going to his outlet receiver 1yd downfield. Bills fans can point to Holcombs stellar completion percentage every week after we lose. "Hey, Kelly went 20 for 24 for 18 yards! Woohoo!"PTR 738540 Didn't KH have like, the first 300 yard passing game by a Bills QB in 3 years? 300..18..same.
