GoodBye Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Kenny.... What a horrible audio recording on that. Could even hear him singing.
The Dean Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Can't make this stuff up if you try. June 2006, Los Angeles. 736443 Yikes! Well, they certainly are birds of a commercial, mediocre (I'm being kind today), pseudo-musical feather.
Zamboni Man Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Where's Dave??? Somebody needs to make it happen....
Alaska Darin Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Where's Dave??? Somebody needs to make it happen.... 736465 No way. After seeing Dave obliterate classic VH with some fuggin' hippy redneck bluegrass band on Conan, I NEVER want to see him again.
ajzepp Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 No way. After seeing Dave obliterate classic VH with some fuggin' hippy redneck bluegrass band on Conan, I NEVER want to see him again. 736475 I saw that too....wtf??
Zamboni Man Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 No way. After seeing Dave obliterate classic VH with some fuggin' hippy redneck bluegrass band on Conan, I NEVER want to see him again. Because EVH making a soundtrack for porn is so much better... "NSF" Eddie Doing The Soundtrack... They need to make it happen before they're both too damn old to make it happen. VH and Dave were the Kings at one point... we saw what happened in '96 when they hinted at getting back together. Reunion tour, make millions and then let each other make porn soundtracks, bluegrass, radio shows, whatever ....just do a reunion tour and show the world what rock n roll is all about
Alaska Darin Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 VH and Dave were the Kings at one point... And that's how I'd like to remember them. No thanks. A VH reunion today would be nothing more than a parody.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Ever notice that there is virtually no distinction between Country, Rock, and Pop music anymore? Not a bad thing unless you're a purist. I can recall just a few years ago being seen with a country artist was the height of uncool to the rock crowd. And a country artist collaborating with anyone outside of country music got you drummed out of the club. Waylon Jennings is spinning in his grave. PTR
Tux of Borg Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Can't make this stuff up if you try. June 2006, Los Angeles. 736443 I see Eddie is enjoying sobriety.

PTR 737072 From the point of view of someone who loves rock and roll, and "real" country music, I think that some of the greatest rock-n'roll is not all that far from country. Listen to vintage, classic rock, like, say, late 60's and early 70's Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, Clapton...it borrows as much from country music as it does the blues... People like Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw are just doing sort of what used to be considered adult contemporary pop...they don't please country purists, or real rock and rollers, but they really appeal to that middle of the road crowd. That is pretty much the rule in all entertainment these days... Has beens like Van Halen, the Cars, Journey etc etc are just starting to figure out what Nashville country artists have known for years...the middle of the road is where it's at...just come up with one or two top 10 hits, and you will be able to make a living touring for the rest of your life, record deal or not. No need to try to challange yourself artistically, just give the people the same old crap that they loved you for, and they will love you forever....
apuszczalowski Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 VH has been going down hill ever since they brought the keyboards in and Dave left. Now they are just becoming a bunch of aging jokes of rock and rollers
Chef Jim Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Where's Dave??? 736465 Dave's not here man...........

Thought maybe a bit of a resurgence with Sammy but too much "noise". You need only one great guitar.
Alaska Darin Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Keyboards.......generally the beginning of the end. Thought maybe a bit of a resurgence with Sammy but too much "noise". You need only one great guitar. 737920 Sammy didn't play guitar on any VH album. Pretty much the only time he played guitar in concert were on his songs or ocassionally on Jump or other songs where Eddie played keys. In the later years they tracked the keyboards, which sucked ass.

Can't quite explain, but it was like watching an uncle you really like pee on the family photo album.
buckeyemike Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I'm not sure there's anything sadder than a 51 year old alcoholic guitar great dancing around on stage like a drunken fool. I really didn't need to see that; it sucked. And I believe that EVH is the single greatest guitar player who ever lived. Mike
apuszczalowski Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 And I believe that EVH is the single greatest guitar player who ever lived. 738076 Not even close He was good, but not the best ever
Alaska Darin Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Not even close He was good, but not the best ever 738081 Gee, thanks for weighing in on something that's completely subjective anyway.
