Good To Hear Matt Bowen Is Looking Good

Recommended Posts

This freakin' kid is a rookie for God's sake - sign your jackpot and get to work. I just hope that he is hearing the same posatives that I have heard about Bowen in camp. Between the OTAs that Whitner missed because of Ohio State's exam schedule and this hold-out, he is really damaging his chances.

That being said, take care and brush your hair Donte - this team is moving on without you.

You need two hands to Clap....Both the Bills and Donte are at fault here....

They both need to understand the importance of that pick and get this thing

done. The bills can't be in some kind of Magic land thinking that Bowen can

make all the plays that Donte can...

Also it takes a year for a Safety to get into full gear...We are not going to

see much of Donte shining this year consistently....

Both Troy Polamalu and Roy Williams blossomed in their second year in

the league....The only other safety who was great right of the bat was

Sean Taylor for the Redskins....

I thought they signed Bowen to be the starter this year before they drafted Whitner.

I wouldnt have minded Bowen starting for a year or two while the Bills filled other needs

I think that was Plan B if Donte was already off the board at #8.

GO BOWEN!

What the NFL seems to be increasingly about as the players get faster and bigger and the salary cap constraints alter rosters, having a Plan B for each position is essential to getting enough Ws (along with dumb luck with the way the oddly shaped ball bounces and how the refs calls go when Luckett blows the coin flip).

NE won their SBs, because of the dunb luck that Brady turned out to be a great Plan B (in fact easily better than BB's Plan A) when Bledsoe got killed. The next couple of wins saw NE Plan Bs of players stepping up when folks like Colvinwent down or the WRs producing at DB when they went down.

The killing effect of Whitner not signing appears likely to be not having Bowen at SSD, but now having Coy Wire as our Plan B.

Not a problem.

Wire Feels New D

When asked what he thinks about his team’s new defense, Buffalo Bills safety Coy Wire tries to measure his words.

But the smile that comes across his face gives him away.

“It’s a high-energy, aggressive, attacking defense,” Wire said of new defensive coordinator Perry Fewell’s Tampa-2 scheme. “I believe that’s the way game should be played. ... I really think it fits our players’ mentalities well.”

High energy and aggressive are two terms often used to describe Wire’s play.

So is it a natural conclusion to say the Tampa-2 is the ideal defense for Wire?

“All I’ll say is I feel very comfortable in this defense,” he said. “I feel it.”

I do realize that both sides are at fault here but CUMMON, at some point, come to your senses, play for the game, be unique (God forbid) and take your boat load of cash and be thankful you are in this position.

NO SYMPATHY HERE -NONE

But on the same token, why can't the bills think that they are losing valuable

coaching time on their starting safety and considering that is a weak link, why

don't they compromise and come to the middle of the table....the arguments

should go both ways....After all the bills just signed a huge revenue sharing

contract with the networks and have plenty of cash available to throw in.
