Kelly the Dog Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I hope they don't deal him, but I don't think they will. http://www.wgr550.com/sabres/fullstory.php?id=1777
PTS Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Darcy stated that Briere WON'T be traded. Golisano has caught the fever. This team is gonna be awesome.
Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 We better keep him! 735090 yes. we should.
Ramius Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 yes. we should. 735102 Briere at 5 mil per is worth much more than max or JP at 3 mil per. One of them will be gone before the season starts.

That would initially save $5 million against the cap, but Kalinin, Miller, and a backup goalie still need to be signed. Mair has his arbitration today- I don't expect that to break the bank. The problem is that most teams have already solved their goaltending needs, and nobody wants a $2.1 million backup. I think the Blues are really the only team on the market in dire need of a goalie. However, if we could get 2-3 draft picks for Marty and JP, I assume coming from St Louis the picks would be fairly high up. I'd do it. I expect Darcy to pull the trigger on a trade before 2008.... Just kidding Darcy- keep up the good work man! Golisano is making the committment and backing it up with $$$$- I love it!!!
