udonkey
Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that Bengals OG Eric Steinbach will most likely be a goner at the end of the season, as the Bengals probably won't want to pay him. Now, I'm certainly not trying to get ahead of ourselves here, but if our line underperforms AGAIN, this would be a decent prospect. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art.../307310076/1066

I thought Steinbach was the can't-miss Guard that we should have drafted instead of McGahee. If he is so wonderful, why would the Bengals already be thinking they will not re-sign him? Or is this just speculation on his absurd FA contract demands?

B'gals have to be concerned with money - they just re-signed Levi Jones, and they have Willie Anderson and Rich Braham to consider.

"CHA-CHING: Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer is the fifth highest-paid athlete in the United States, according to rankings on SI.com. Palmer earns $30,750,000 in salary and winnings and another $800,000 in endorsements. His salary will drop next season. The first four are golfers Tiger Woods ($97.6 million) and Phil Mickelson ($46 million) and basketball's Shaquille O'Neal ($34 million) and Kobe Bryant ($33.7 million).
