A FIFA disciplinary committee issued the sanctions after meeting with the former French international during a hearing in Zurich, Switzerland on Thursday. Materazzi was also suspended for two international matches and fined almost $4,000 US for "repeatedly provoking Zidane" during the final earlier this month. Since he has retired from international competition, Zidane, who was also fined almost $6,000 US, has agreed to do three days of community service work with children and youngsters as part of FIFA's humanitarian activities.
