Ramius Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 "The Buffalo Bills have announced the team has signed offensive tackle Jason Peters to a contract extension." No terms disclosed. But i like this move a lot. Lock up some of our young talent. I guess the amount the contract is for will tell if buffalo has permanent plans to move him to LT.

So far, the ONLY prognostication about moving Peters to LT has come from fans who for some reason think he should be there instead of continuing to learn and develop into a dominant RT. I'm thrilled that they extended him, by the way.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Woot! Good move with the contract extension, definitely needed to get done THIS offseason before the rest of the NFL takes notice.
buffaloboyinATL Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 This is great news. I honestly thought he was going to play out the year and then go to the highest bidder. I am very happy that this got done prior to camp. Way to go Marv!
sfladave Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Great news! I think this qualifies as the best move by OBD this off season.
nodnarb Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Great news. Impressive and extremely rare talent. Gotta lock those up.
udonkey Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Our UDFA fat tight end from Arkansas may become our franchise LT just yet...
SuperBills12 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 so does this vindicate TD for signing Peters after the Mike Williams debacle.....time will tell
Stl Bills Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Sweet! Someone needs to break the news to VaBills easily because he's going to be pissed. Poor guy, its been a rough offseason....first we cut Bennie's fat ass, now this ,
ganesh Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Agreed. Very smart move. 723112 I just hope that he improves his run-blocking this off season....Good way to go into training camp...

Poor guy, its been a rough offseason....first we cut Bennie's fat ass, now this , 723114 Still not as bad as last year when we got a third for Henry.
Mark Long Beach Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Great news! Was unexpected and very welcome news!
LabattBlue Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Great news. Impressive and extremely rare talent. Gotta lock those up. 723108 I'm glad that he was signed to an extension and the fact that TD signed him up as a UDFA, but the phrase "extremely rare talent" should be reserved for players of Reggie Bush's caliber.
John from Riverside Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I think eventually Peters WILL be moved to the left side.... but not this year
bigtex Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Peters dominates, and will prove to be a great talent over the next 8-10 years, hopefully all with the Bills

One, as far as the record states...That's pretty rare.
RuntheDamnBall Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 so does this vindicate TD for signing Peters after the Mike Williams debacle.....time will tell 723113 Nah, that was all Modrak's doing.
