Packers release DT Donnell Washington.

Recommended Posts

He sounds like a Saban special. They need a DT and they seem to like all the cast-offs. He's been a huge disappointment and a underacheiver so far but he does have some interesting talents. Does a new enviroment make a difference with this slacker? If somebody could motivate this guy he could be a very good player.

It's tempting to sit down and interview this guy. The Packers do have a new coach and this could be an example of having very little tolerance for this type of player and molding the team in his fashion. One of the attributes to this guy is his age. He's young with a ton of potential. It would be great to see Kollar getting into this player's face and firing him up. The Packers did keep him this long and got rid of Grady Jackson a heck of a lot earlier. Tripplett and a motivated Washington would make a great tandem in the middle of our defense. I wonder what Jauron thinks about this guy.

Here's a couple of links on this guy.

Potential is what kills GM's and coaches.

1. The guy went to Clemson so yes his Wonderlic score is single digits.

2. The guy could pump more iron than anyone else on the team. The NFL requires some technique to go with strength.

3. Rookie season got injured first week of camp and out for year. Last year made the game day active squad once. This year shows up for mini-camp 20 pounds over where he was and out of shape.

He might be an Arena football kind of guy. He is part of why the GM that drafted him got fired. Just another poor draft choice.
