meazza Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 UKRAINE! Bring on Italy! 714331 Sheva vs Nesta.
ajzepp Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 it will be good 714334 Two more good games tomorrow, then two days off until we start up with some serious business....I can't wait
meazza Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 it will be good 714334 I can't wait. Hopefully #10 will finally find his form. Seemed to be the difference in today's game.
chicot Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 UKRAINE! Bring on Italy! 714331 Good! The Swiss deserved to lose. They were so negative they completely killed that game.
smokinandjokin Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I heard the best candidate is Jurgen Klinsmann, the current German coach. He loves the US, lives in Southern Cal, and is reportedly interested. Obviously, as it stands, Arena is still the coach here and Klinsmann is still trying to win a World Cup in Germany, so I wouldn't expect this rumor to pick up steam for a while. 714326 I'm an idiot. Anyways, it was just a rumor I heard. And I suppose he could actually be interested, but you wouldn't find anyone in their right mind waxing poetic about their next coaching job while their team is in the World Cup quarters. Unless Larry Brown was a soccer coach.

I'm quite sure that he'd be focused on WINNING the damn WC in 2010, not just "getting closer"

Unless Larry Brown was a soccer coach. 714340 Klinsman is a too high profile coach. Seemed rather unrealistic. A coach like Cesare Maldini or Gus Hiddink or even the hated Giovanni Trappatoni are types of coaches who like to coach clubs with less known players. Hiddink won a champions league with PSV Eindoven against an unbeatable Milan squad that actually had Klinsmann as a player.
Alaska Darin Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 You're kinda late to the party....the haters have already come and gone. 714122 Nah, we're still here. Laughing.
ajzepp Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 Nah, we're still here. Laughing. 714343 haha, I figured my comment was akin to sending up the bat signal of soccer haters
Alaska Darin Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 haha, I figured my comment was akin to sending up the bat signal of soccer haters 714344 It's kickball. Get it right!
ajzepp Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 It's kickball. Get it right! 714345 Oh, that's right....how could I forget the haters' matra? lol Kickball sucks, Hockey rules!

That's why I can't get into soccer. PTR

meazza Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 And that never happens in the NFL? 714356 You beat me too it
Pete Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 The NFL does not arbitrarily throw out players and make the team play a man down. All sports have there issues with refs but it is the most blatant in soccer

I know there is a difference, but every sport has its faults.
erynthered Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 And that never happens in the NFL? 714356 I'm wondering when a terrorist is gonna blow himself up at the World Cup. Seems like a good place, as far as their concerned. I wonder which Country will be targeted.
