Cugalabanza Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I think this is great, not just for England (who I really like this time), but for the game in general. Rooney is one of the most exciting players to watch and he deserves his chance. I hope he will be ready to go 100% for round 2. http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/060607/1/76mk.html
Beerball Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 He better trim his eyebrows before he plays. At his age the wind resistence would be wicked bad.

Cugalabanza Posted June 7, 2006 Author Posted June 7, 2006 bad brows 704683 Sorry, I missed that one.
ajzepp Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 That's awesome news! I've been watching some "Manchester United classics" on Fox Soccer Channel over the past few weeks....the guy is a monster. I'm not really rooting for England either, but I'm thrilled that he's playing. I want to see the best of the best, which will only make the US victory all the sweeter
meazza Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 McDonalds in Germany should be pleased. Another funny thing I heard this morning was that Ronaldo was fit to play in the world cup. I didn't know that soccer had integrated the offensive line position into the game since that is the only position a fat slob like Ronaldo would fit into
nick in* england Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 He'll only play after the first stage... BUT THIS IS GREAT NEWS. ENGLAND EXPECTS

KD in CA Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 France loses a striker -- out with broken leg What a pity.
Ned Flanders Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I wouldn't be surprised to see him come in as a 2nd half sub in game 3 against Sweden. 705311 Christ, I'd be surprised to see the guy at all...he can hardly walk! Link

ACor58 Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 The World Cup is starting? When? I thought that they stopped having the World Cup when the MLS folded.
eball Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Andy? We're screwed -- that guy is like a hundred years old or something.
meazza Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 France loses a striker -- out with broken leg What a pity. 705315 He was never gonna play anyway.
nick in* england Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 He was never gonna play anyway. 705494 Uhhh - Cisse was their leading scorer in the qualifiers... He was gonna play. This is the second time he's broken his leg in the same way. It's a loss for France and for Liverpool. He's a fool though - so.... m'eh.

Maybe he would have played but he wasn't the main source of attack for les bleus. I really can't wait to see Zizou play, since this is the last time he will be stepping foot on a soccer pitch.
