PromoTheRobot
They forgot to mention music by Mark Mothersbaugh Devo, and the Residents! One of the best TV shows ever. Too bad Paul Ruebens couldn't keep little Pee Wee under wraps. I forgot about Lawrence Fishburne. Was he Cowboy Curtis? Show trivia: Ranked #10 in TV Guide's list of the "25 Top Cult Shows Ever!" (30 May 2004 issue). It is often assumed that the main reason for the cancellation of the series was Paul Reubens' indictment for obscenity in Florida, but in fact Reubens and CBS had mutually agreed to end the show in 1991. CBS did, however, choose not to air the reruns of episodes they had planned for August of that year, and the final network telecast was 27 July 1991. The theme song was sung by Cyndi Lauper, but is listed in the credits by her real name, Ellen Shaw. The concept for the show actually came from Andy Kaufman with his co-writer Bob Zmuda, who dubbed it "Andy's Funhouse". It was based of Kaufman's experiences doing children's birthday parties and performing for children. But he developed lung cancer and was unable to do the show. Before Kaufman's death, Reubens got permission from Kaufman to do it himself. Rob Zombie was a production assistant on the show. PTR

He also changed his name from Larry to sound more professional.
Corp000085
I own the complete playhouse DVD collection. That show was nothing less that genius. Sure, reubens was completely mad, and a pervert, but he was a genius.

shrader
I'll definitely watch it if I'm around the tv at that time. Now if only they'd pick up the original Transformers cartoons, my youth would be completely revisited.
stevestojan
and a pervert 704012[/snapback] A pervert? For what? He fired off some knuckle-children in a XXX theatre. Mind you, buying some porn may have been a better choice, but what do people think those theatres are for? I've never been to one (and you know I'd tell you if I had been) but what do you think goes on there? People go to watch "Grinding Nemo" and order a large PopCorn and some Goobers? I worked for a marketing company whose clients included some porn sites (along with MSN.com... but people here don't seem to wanna talk about that). Anywho, it was a professional office environment, not a XXX theatre. So your guess is wrong. But nice attempt.
